SF! I've joined you now in the "What happened to my DUE Date" club. Only a day but I am envisioning 2-1/2 weeks over like the last one. I have to keep reminding myself that they are getting stronger and healthier by the day, even if I am going crazy. These babies have a God ordained due date and we're closer now than even an hour ago. They can't stay there forever! hahaha! Right...?

The deep dark abyss of the unregenerated human heart is always frightening to see. It does cause me to remember that as deep and dark as mans sin goes, God's mercy and love know no bounds; and while evil like this swirls around us we are kept by a Savior who cannot be touched by any of this and is able to uphold and strengthen us, even if it is to weather or die in the storm.

To be sure, Kim Jong-un is getting away with nothing and will have to answer for the blood on his hands. It will be much.

"Many deceivers have gone out into the world; they do not confess the coming of Jesus Christ in the flesh. This is the deceiver and the antichrist. Watch yourselves so you don’t lose what we have worked for, but that you may receive a full reward. Anyone who does not remain in Christ’s teaching but goes beyond it, does not have God. The one who remains in that teaching, this one has both the Father and the Son. If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not receive him into your home, and don’t say, 'Welcome,' to him; for the one who says, 'Welcome,' to him shares in his evil works." (2 John 1:7-11)

All that without a sound track and special effects!!

Dopey, how could I have not thought of that?!? Well, if I don't find it, I can always write my own version and call it a paraphrase! Seems to work for lots of people nowadays!

Therein lies the problem I think: adding to and taking away from Scripture! As if what God said wasn't good/exciting/entertaining/intriguing enough for us! I understand the difficulty quieting yourself before God when the world around you seems to buzz and vibrate with media 24/7 - but it is the place we find Him and he can speak to us clearly. Reminds me of the city of Vanity Fair in Pilgrims Progress. People don't seem to want to just shut it out/down and concentrate on Christ and Christ alone. We might actually have to face, well, OURSELVES! He often draws us to Himself so tenderly at those times.

Doing ok here. Due date's the 17th so we are closer than yesterday at least! Like SF had said before, at this point, trying to be patient is the biggest challenge. We're ready for the baby to join the party! Ha!

Dorcas! Good morning(ish)! I couldn't stomach the movie - it was just about Mary! But it shows how easily we can be manipulated. We had a local church in Wyoming once hold a movie and Bible study for kids when "Horton Hears A Who" came out. Our neighbors sent their kids there and what did the kids say they learned? "Jesus loves you and hears you no matter who you are or what planet you're from!" ???? Still haven't found supporting Scripture for that one.

Ya know GSTexas, I have heard it said "where the root is bad, the fruit is bad". I think Christians nowadays, so anxious to be comfortable in the pew, reach out with glee at these movies which satisfy both their carnality and their superficial religiosity touting them as "opening doors to the unsaved". But Jesus said if the root is bad, then the fruit is bad - even if it APPEARS to be good and goes down easy. I think Eve and Adam ran into this problem... Hollywood is NOT a good root and while the fruit may look good, Christ was clear. I wish Christians would stop grasping at these movies and making a study guide for every movie that comes out so they can "preach to the lost". It will only produce more bad fruit. Sincerity aside, these Christians are sincerely wrong - when did the unadulterated word of God stop being enough? I praise God for His calling and revelation on those whom He loves and keeps!!

Jessica D and Frank - reminds me of Aaron and the Isrealites waiting for Moses. "[Aaron] took the gold from their hands, fashioned it with an engraving tool, and made it into an image of a calf. Then they said, “Israel, this is your God, who brought you up from the land of Egypt! ” When Aaron saw this, he built an altar before it; then he made an announcement: “There will be a festival to the Lord tomorrow.” Early the next morning they arose, offered burnt offerings, and presented fellowship offerings. The people sat down to eat and drink, then got up to play. (Exodus 32:4-6)

They build their "golden calf", then declare its use as a festival to the Lord. There is no fear of the Lord in these people! I would only add that they are indeed praising "something". God keep us indeed!

In the name of scientific study, I would suggest that we create a sample group of sugar powered batteries to include (and this is just my humble opinion - albeit, a very pregnant, "I want my chocolate way" and "don't get between me and my chocolate" opinions): in addition to Snickerdoodles, ginger snaps, extra chocolate chunk chocolate chip cookies and maybe a Kolachy (ya know, for the "healthy" sugar powered battery desirous people). Hey... This could work!!

Well Dopey, we'll make an exception for you! Besides, the snow's too deep, the wind too cold and the temps too frigid to go out and string anyone up!

Thank you for the prayers! My husband was reading the story of Moses encountering God in the burning bush and God telling Moses He was "I am". I suspect a person could spend their entire life meditating on those two words and never come remotely close to grasping the depth and breadth of His infinitness. "I am"... I will be thinking about this all day. So many on here have been a tremendous blessing - especially those with stories that reveal the glorious nature of I Am and encourage me and others to walk that narrow path! God bless your comings and goings today, Dopey!!

I'm with Dopey! You want sugar powered batteries? Bowl of ice cream + child = sugar powered battery. They'll just keep going and going and going...

But on a serious note, did't they try this is Switzerland or Germany back in the early 80's? They had a problem with its longevity and exposure to warmth.

"Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not murder; and whosoever shall murder shall be in danger of the judgment: But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment..." (Matt 5:21-22)

I think this woman's issues are deeper and more profound than murder. Christ broke this down into bit size humility for each of us that we might not think of ourselves as more righteous than another, as if our dirty rags are somehow less dirty. The only difference between "us" and "them" is Christ - so we have nothing to boast about. What she did turns my stomach and I don't particularly agree with women who go on these speaking tours because I find they appeal to emotions more than point the sinner to Christ (but not always is this the case).

Her despising of this little life unto death is still something that God can use to bring glory to Himself. There is hope for people who have committed "atrocities" against others. It isn't like she'll escape judgment under God; but it isn't as if you or I escape judgment under God either unless Christ stands before us. I do pray the woman in this article will be saved because in the end, I am no better than her. Christ is my all in all - that's ALL I have!

TC, the hospital I worked at for 10 years had a number of witches, some who practiced black and some white. So I am familiar with their ways. Sadly, both are destined for the same awful fate unless they cease their practices, destroy their "high places" and repent of their rebellion against God. One group was outright hostile to God, while the other tried to mix morality with their practices - all of it is occult. What can light have to do with darkness?

SF - well, we're due the 17th, plus or minus. I say minus- our midwife is not doing her job and when she left for a vacation she never forwarded any info on to her associates. Let's just say it's been a long, long week! We continue to pray for your peace and your husbands as well (it's always hard on them in the final days I think).

TC, so, are you saying it's kind of Wizard of Oz-ish: a good witch versus a bad witch? You're not suggesting that you can be a good witch, right?

Dorcas, great selection of Scripture! The exact story I was thinking of! TC would do well to cast all of that away into fire.

SF - upon your recommendation a few weeks ago, I downloaded Cooley's entire Hollywood series. My husband and I listened to all dozen of them and we even went through some books we had and were rather shocked to find the symbols we did. The books were chucked in the firepit. We tossed the movies a long time ago and enjoy stuff like "Amazing Adventure with Buddy Davis" for the kids. I don't miss any of it any more. Btw, how're are you doing? We are in the middle of a wee bump in the road with our midwife; baby seems to want to come earlier than we expected!

From the article: "...citizens across Europe will be able to choose the Europe they want to live in."

Since the Europeans have been dead set on making sure to include the Muslims and Sharia law have strong footings in their governments and peoples, THIS should be fair and balanced! (cue the sarcasm) They will be handing this new world order (seems to be the correct definition) right to the Muslim community on a silver platter!

SF, preaching to the choir! Lol! My husband reminds me of the 1 Timothy verse frequently (usually after a long day and a backache) hahaha! I haven't seen the psalms verse before but just copied it down; wonderful and thank you! I will be using that as well. Well, we continue to lift you and the baby and your family up in prayer as the arrival is soon!

Lady virtue, we do not miss TV either! What TV we see at other places I have been shocked more at the commercials than the shows themselves - downright revolting! I just don't see the point of flipping it on anymore for the very, very few shows that might be alright since there is so much junk to wade through! This article, as case in point; it just gets nastier with each passing season.
