Like it or not, Britain is a socialist country, in practice at least, and to arrive to this it has to be a liberalist country already, because one cannot get to socialism without shedding away principle, value, sound logic, national identity, right, personal accountability, and historical context and heritage.

John Lee wrote:
... Britain may not be communist yet, but it certainly seems to be headed that way ...
From the article:

"Sarah Phillimore, a family law attorney, said: "I cannot believe the government is being asked to consider surveillance of citizens in their own home ... Will we have an East German-style secret police like the Stasi?"

The Law Commission report said stirring up division over "race, religion or sexual orientation" even in homes, should be criminalized"

How far will the Lord allow this evil trend to succeed against man's basic civil rights?

Doctored curricula selectively and consistently censored, have chopped away from the classroom important eras of British history, so Britain has been stripped from its past, and forgotten its history, while the church blankly stares at as ignorant as ever.

There had been such times when civil freedoms had been at peril in Britain, but under the national awareness of a Protestant culture and biblical heritage, the nation responded against such barbaric measures, hence the Glorious Revolution and Cromwell's Commonwealth.

“ Such a blessed and rich occasion ”
It has been a privilege to witness such an unique occasion, repleted with grace and unction from above. All the senior ministers taking part honoured the Saviour as best as their theology could enhance it. We tasted a little of that verse that says, "And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever." Daniel 12

Thank you Mr. Lee for that indebted tribute about the significance of Dr Cairns' ministry in the context of what is known as SermonAudio today.

Benefiting from SermonAudio throughout the years, and aware of the story behind its origins, we appreciate you bringing it up for the knowledge of many and for God's praise.
How wonderful and perfect are His ways.

Dr. Cairns can be rightfully known as a true 'Doctor' of the Word. He did not bear the title in vain, because he did not only tell his audience the what of the Gospel, but the why and the how of it, along with its depth, making his passionate preaching glow with assurance, radiance, conviction, and eternal reality.

We bless the Lord for favouring his church in gifting this unassuming Ulster gentleman with specific gifts of grace to unable him to become a master piece of Christian service.

The seeing in part is become now for him the seeing fully about how we have been loved in the Beloved from eternity, which theme he delighted so much to preach on.

His works follow him.

Brothers John and Chris,
Nice to hear from you both.

Perhaps through the so called 'pandemic' God is fulfilling his plans in our day.
There have been for a long while many strains of evangelical Christianity that needed finished off, and many others, needed hard pruning. It might be the case as in the time of old, that His ears had tired off empty praise. See Isaiah 1:10-14
Perhaps the happenings are His design, yet when all is fulfilled real culprits might not escape accountability.

Chris, your informative insight about the name Palestine is interesting.

"Except the LORD of hosts had left unto us a very small remnant, we should have been as Sodom, ... like unto Gomorrah.
Hear the word of the LORD, ye rulers of Sodom; give ear unto the law of our God, ye people of Gomorrah.
To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices unto me? saith the LORD: I am full of the burnt offerings of rams, and the fat of fed beasts; and I delight not in the blood of bullocks, or of lambs, or of he goats.
When ye come to appear before me, who has required this at your hand, to tread my courts?
Bring no more vain oblations; incense is an abomination unto me; the new moons and sabbaths, the calling of assemblies, I cannot away with ... I am weary to bear them ..."

Thanks, BMcC. for your recommendation of the lecture of Mr. Giuliani. Our family is listening to the series.

Yes, it is quite interesting to follow his acute understanding of matters from Scripture, with his Italian background.
His topics are special also.
Take care

Yes, Jim has yet to explain why he supports Governors taking away by fiat, State legislators’ responsibilities. Emergency powers? Who decides there is an emergency? Oh that’s right, the governors. Some democracy Jim likes.
It appears clearly that Jim pursues an agenda while posting in a Conservative Christian platform continual attacks against biblical truth and righteousness.

No one can be a Christian with that set of mind, so there is only one explanation, a purpuseful destructive intrution against Christian culture and values, and in the end of true Christianity .

This is a token of the flat curve Christianity is at in the present Western Civilization.

You draw parallel lines of the two, when in reality they intersect.
Can u explain what u mean ?
Probably you might attest more than you admit.

God can reveal himself to any by any means he chooses, say even the stones or an ass could speak for him to the unconverted, or he might make himself known through any other none orthodox means, yet this should not dismiss the issue of our responsibility as we are told "to contend for the faith once delivered to the saints".

Any seeking God will find him, and a version issue will not be the stumbling block, if could be rather the opposite to the elect of God, though definitively is going to be such for any of the none elect.

"God has given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear"

Jim Lincoln wrote:
Why, John, everyone knows the Vulgate Bible is the only true Bible❗ It uses God's language, Latin. All the newfangled versions, especially the KJV, are heretical corruptions
Remember, adriel, The Vulgate has been around for 1500 years,
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vulgate
So I need new upstart version such as the KJV, which is a corruption of God's Word. Well, you might be able to tolerate the Wycliffe version.
Not a clue you have, sir.

The Old Latin bible stood against the Vulgate for over 1000 years. That was the Bible of the none conformists of the dark ages.

Erasmus and other reformer's eclectic criteria in the sixteenth century when choosing the Greek manuscripts to prepare the received text might have been influenced by the stand of this Old Latin Bible which non conformists held to, including the Waldensians, instead of the Vulgate which was the Bible of the apostate church for over 1000 years.
