What exactly defines "Christian America" anyway? What percentage of the population must be professing Christians to define the US as such---50%, 80%, 100%? I suppose if America was at anytime 100% professing Christian, then perhaps it might be acceptable to call it such. Anything less, I don't know. If ever there was a "Christian America," it ceased to exist a long time ago. I also question the use of such titles, because it may give citizens a false sense of salvation simply because they live in a "Christian" country.
It is a major problem regardless of church affiliation. There are liberals in about every church tradition. It is simply the sign of the times and fulfillment of the apostacy the Apostles warned would come.
And what is the source of creation? Nice how they dodged it by saying "creativity." Sounds like they are giving attributes to evolution as if it is a living being. Hmmm..evolution...creative? Trying to calm their bothered conscience about God being in control.
John Yurich USA wrote: they do not want to believe that any church that worships Jesus as God and believes in the Holy Trinity is where Jesus is
Actually the Bible is silent on Jesus needing people to embrace the Trinity doctrine in order for Him to be among them or to be true Christians. What matters is submitting totally to God by embracing the Holy Bible alone as the only divinely inspired, immutable and infallible authority and Jesus Christ alone as the only savior and infallible head of the congregation. He is God in the flesh and in Him only dwells all the fullness of God. He alone is the author of salvation and the forgiveness of sins in His name to all who believe.
I assume this is referring to His atoning sacrifice. In that case I submit that He is the atonining sacrifice "not only for our sins, but the sins of the whole world."(1 John 2:2) Sounds like all men, so that is what I voted.
I think the Pope is right and Mr. Dawkins condemns himself. Of course, it doesn't take the Pope to see the problem. Despite education and all the gadgets, disease still spreads. A return to biblical chastity is needed.
I suppose it would be salvation by works if the power of God's word to free a sinner was excluded. But I did not exclude that. Not sure what you mean. "Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth forever."(1 Peter 1:23) And of course grace the Holy Spirit are part of this work.
It's the condition of total depravity. The people who have walked in darkness have seen a great light. When the light of God's word shines forth upon a darkened conscience and faith is kindled, only then can one truly believe and love the one who first loved us.
By faith alone. I cannot of my own strength be positionally righteous or transformed unto righteous works. This is only by the power of God through faith in His word. I believe we are justified by faith and from this faith flow good works.
