Don’t believe me, believe the Bible which says these things. I have not quoted anything in error. It is what it is, but you would rather splash around in a bathtub.

“And he said to them, "Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?" And they said, "No, we have not even heard that there is a Holy Spirit." And he said, "Into what then were you baptized?" They said, "Into John's baptism."”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭19:2-3‬

When were they supposed to receive the Holy Spirit? When they believed.

Since they didn’t, what does Paul ask? “Into what then were you baptized?” That is because without the Holy Spirit one cannot be baptized. He knew that they hadn’t really been baptized so he was leading them into it.

Was water baptism sufficient? Obviously not because then Paul proceeds to lay hands on them and they received baptism in the Holy Spirit!

“And when Paul had laid his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they began speaking in tongues and prophesying.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭19:6‬

I am simply quoting Scripture. That must really burst your bubble!

It’s not that Christians are commanded to be baptized, it’s that Christians are already baptized! How else can one be a part of the body of Christ without being placed into the body? As I pointed out earlier, how are disciples made? By baptism. If you haven’t been baptized, you are not a part of the body of Christ!

“For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—Jews or Greeks, slaves or free—and all were made to drink of one Spirit.”
‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭12:13‬

“You, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in you. Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭8:9‬

If you haven’t received baptism of the Holy Spirit, Christ does not belong to you and you aren’t part of the body.

I think baptism has caused much division within the church. Infant baptism, sprinkling, submersion, what mode or method, etc. Scripture says there is only one baptism and it places us into the body of Christ. There aren’t any Biblical instruction to baptize in water, only examples of it happening. However, when Jesus and John the Baptist spoke about baptism in the future tense, it was with the Holy Spirit. Which makes sense because that is how one is placed into the body of Christ and saved! No need to argue or debate about water which can only cleanse the body and not the spirit.

Far from being a sacrament, baptism is of a greater importance.

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age."”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭28:19-20‬

Notice that baptism is separate from all that I have commanded you? Why not say, “teach the Lord’s Supper and all that I commanded you”? It is because the Lord’s Supper is only a sacrament to be taught. Also, how are disciples made? It is by baptism, if someone is not baptized, they aren’t even a disciple of Christ!

“for John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now."”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭1:5‬

Jesus told us that believers would be baptized in the Holy Spirit. John’s baptism was with water, but has been replaced with the Holy Spirit!

All Kim did was remove dirt from the body, which she might have needed anyways! True baptism is different than that though:

“Baptism, which corresponds to this, now saves you, not as a removal of dirt from the body but as an appeal to God for a good conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,”
‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭3:21‬

“I have baptized you with water, but he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit."”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭1:8‬

He should have skipped the water! Oh well, hopefully he was baptized with the Holy Spirit.

I would believe he was sincere a whole lot more if he came out and said he had a come to Jesus moment. That he repented of his sins and had faith in Jesus Christ. A prosperity teacher who stops putting a dollar amount on what he ask you to give is still an unsaved prosperity teacher.

Dr. Tim...You’re going way back! My wife remembers those days. She tells me how they used to drive on dirt roads and if they couldn’t find what they needed at Hooper’s (the little country grocery store), they would have to drive for miles to the city. She recently took my two oldest to the Dixie Speedway, they had a hoot!

I think John UK brings up a good point! Benny Hinn never repented of asking for money in order to make himself rich. He repented of putting a dollar amount to that sum. He still wants people to give to him though, so that they will be blessed with riches in return. It’s still the prosperity gospel!

Having a form of godliness, Drew Brees says bring your Bible to school and share your faith. However, he proceeds to deny the power of the gospel to change hearts by trying to distance himself from it’s message of repentance from sin.

“...Certainly not promoting any group that is associated with that type of behavior.”

What behavior? Calling homosexuality a sin.

“Because I know that there are, unfortunately, Christian organizations out there that are involved in that kind of thing and to me that is totally against what being a Christian is all about. Being a Christian is love, it's forgiveness, it’s respecting all, it’s accepting all.”

Many prophets and Apostles called Israel to repent of their sins and obey God. Apparently that’s not right! Bree makes a ridiculous comment about accepting all and if someone were to question if that includes pedophiles and terrorist, he would probably act like the person asking was the crazy one, but his religion says he must love and accept anyone’s behavior. Which is a lie, it’s just about accepting homosexual behavior because the world has.

Dr. Tim...

Have you never been to the fancy Chick-fil-A in Woodstock called The Dwarf House? There’s stuff there you can’t find at the other places! I believe the first one was in Hapeville by the airport.

Just a Guy from MS....

You make a good point to be cautious about his sincerity until shown otherwise. It just takes time because we don’t know his heart. I will say I feel somewhat wronged by him personally because my grandmother was big into Kenneth Copeland and Benny Hinn. She gave a lot to those guys while living in a nice trailer with just some basics. She wasn’t rich and she threw money at them that she could have used on something else. Even felt guilty when she didn’t give “enough”. I blame Hinn somewhat and her mostly for falling for his false doctrine. That scenario is repeated thousands of times over by other people who were duped by him. If he is truly sorry, you think he would do like the tax collector and give it all back.

I thought there was a separation of church and state? You know, the state college can’t have a religious litmus test for their contractors. Chick-fil-A is just as safe as anywhere else and they will serve to anybody who has money, so there goes the inclusion argument.

This is like some character getting killed off and you think they are dead, but ends up coming back to life somehow. He’s saying no more, but will probably renege when he wants some more money. Got to laugh at his followers a little bit, if it weren’t so sad. They have been listening to him for years and cheering what he says and now he is like, “The gospel isn’t for sale!” and they cheer like they thought that all along! Whatever you say Benny!

I don’t see how these meatless substitutes are any better for the environment and the meatless Whopper isn’t that much better for people who watch their fat and calorie intake. It also doesn’t taste as good from what I here!
