This series on assurance has helped me so much. I lived with this constant spiritual anxiety hanging over me, yet didn’t know what it was. This has been a lightbulb moment for me in my Christian life and I’m so thankful. Such a meaty look at the doctrine of assurance yet very simply explained so I was able to understand. Very thankful and can highly recommend.

God really answered my prayer last night. It’s the first time I’ve come across a sermon on the advantages of indwelling sin and I needed this so much. Not like he says, that I may then take advantage of grace but rather, that I would not sink further into sin & depression at the despair of my sin; that I would be better equipped and armed with truth for the good fight of faith. I’m greatly encouraged by this, thank you & thank God!

Helpful presentation of the gospel, especially for any brought up in a Christian home, for whom the law may well become a stumbling block. Great sinners in the world have different problems, such as trying to grasp that God actually loves them and is willing to save them. Praise God that Christ died for the ungodly, and saves all that call upon him. Fellow 1689'er.

I've been studying the doctrine of the Impeccability of Christ for 8 years and this teaching by Arden Hodgins continues to be the best articulation of the doctrine and taught so that anyone with ears can understand. I have heard countless sermons about this these past 8 years and continue to research and hear others' teachings but this one is the best.

Thanks very much for this sermon. I have found it very challenging and a blessing too. I have gained from it much information on how to mortify sin.

Dr. Renihan, thank you so much for expounding on this great, but difficult teaching from the 1689. The way your pulled everything together and explained the Scripture and how it perfectly lines up with the description and office of the pope was mind-blowing! I have claimed to ascribe to the 1689 for the better part of a year now, but did not know this section was in there! (i'm still working on finishing reading/studying the entire confession) But yes, fantastic teaching! I really like that you included your handout notes as well on SermonAudio so I could follow along. I have benefited greatly from your videos having to do with federalism and Baptist covenant theology as well. I was just blown away at your teaching concerning the Pope being a definitive fit for the AntiChrist! I was blown away at how perfectly he matches the Biblical description! I now fully support what the writers of the 1689 believed in this regard. Thank you for your ministry sir, and God bless you. I will be searching through more of your sermons!
