We're keeping busy. There's a lot that goes on here every single day, and one of the annoying things about fast-paced development is that it can often go unappreciated. Here's a summary:

Global Sermons is around the corner.

Our development team presented a live preview of their work-in-progress, giving a glimpse of the intended end-user experience for Global Sermons. It was encouraging to see it in action for the first time.

Global Sermons will facilitate the process of taking a sermon preached in English and having it "re-preached" in multiple foreign languages—with great accuracy and natural-sounding. The system will also facilitate the end-user's ability to select the language of their choice for sermons that have been "globalized."

Live webcasting is getting an overhaul.

Live webcasting on SermonAudio is a vital experience for thousands of users. However, it also represents one of the most challenging architectural hurdles to perfect. Real-time functionality is inherently complex, requiring meticulous attention to detail. We are undertaking a major overhaul of our entire webcast architecture to elevate the experience like never before. This revamp includes full API integration with YouTube and Facebook, replayable webcasts, password-protected streams, enhanced quality, and our unique multiview mode.

This is one of those major development projects that often go unnoticed but truly deserve recognition. Our team has been putting in tremendous effort on this, and perfecting it has been a real challenge.

Upgrades to primary storage.

The need for more storage will never end with over five thousand sermons uploaded to the site each week. We've upgraded our primary storage server array in The Vault and it is fully operational with all new sermons flowing into it. Storage is cumbersome because it's big, and so it's a multi-step process. But we've tackled the big first step.

More progress here, there, and everywhere.

Video-on-demand is a staple to SermonAudio along with audio and it has seen a key code change that will allow it to be more resilient.

And finally, we are now processing year 2013 as we work backwards through our entire sermon library of 2M+ sermons. It's keeping our GPUs very busy but eventually we'll be able to search within sermons!
