The Echo is an inexpensive, voice-controlled smart speaker developed by Amazon. The device consists of a speaker with a microphone array and is capable of connecting to Internet services via WIFI. It can be purchased for as little as $20, and it is controlled with simple voice commands.

For those Echo devices that sport a screen, the currently playing sermon title and speaker photo will appear. It's an attractive way to enjoy listening to your favorite sermons or live webcasts!

Here's how it works.

Once you add our SermonAudio Skill to your Echo device, you can perform a variety of functions simply with voice commands.

How to setup My Church using a name or code.

Setting My Church can be set by the actual church name, the minister's name, the city name, or any combination thereof. However, the most reliable way to set My Church is to use the 5-digit CHURCH CODE ID that's assigned to every broadcaster (found on the church's homepage). Here are some examples:

  1. "Alexa, ask SermonAudio to ...

... set My Church to Hampton Park Baptist Church."
... set My Church to Hampton Park, Greenville."
... set My Church to Drew Conley."
... set My Church to HPBC."
... set My Church to CODE ID 03966."
