BETA-1 for SermonAudio Site 2.0 Launched!
A great day is dawning at SermonAudio!
After years of putting together mockups and designs, and after years of going from concept to code, we are finally ready to take the wraps off of our first public beta of the new SermonAudio 2.0 website! A solid foundation has been laid for the future.
Friends, it's not just a pretty face either. There's a TON of work and rebuilding that's been going on under the hood. In other words, it's not just a new coat of HTML & CSS. The entire framework for the 2.0 site is foundationally different from the existing website. It was necessary to do so in order to get off of legacy back-end systems and embrace the newer development tools that today's developers are using.
MOBILE-FRIENDLY.
The new design language of the 2.0 site is not only clean and modern, but it is also RESPONSIVE (mobile-friendly). It works beautifully on all screen sizes and even supports DARK mode for improved readability in low-light situations.
FREE USERS.
Free user accounts were first introduced on the Sermons 2.0 App and are now supported on the website. With user accounts, you can now bookmark sermons, and follow broadcasters, series, and speakers. Whether you're using the app or the site, your followed content will be available everywhere.
SOLID PLAYER.
Both the audio and video player for sermons have also been rewritten. With full support for keyboard shortcuts, auto-resume, variable playback speeds, and remembering your preference settings, we think you'll agree that our new player is rock solid.
BETTER SEARCH.
It's worthy of its own announcement, but SEARCH has undergone a major overhaul with the use of Elasticsearch, a powerful document-oriented full-text search engine. You can now type in any number of phrases to find just what you're looking for. Phrases such as:
- "cairns john 3:16"
- "united prayer"
- "allison funeral"
Searching has now been radically improved in both accuracy and speed. You can finally find that needle in a haystack!
So, without further ado, visit beta.sermonaudio.com!
Please note: this is a work-in-progress. IT IS BETA. It is a first step and we are working hard on filling out all of the functionality. Thank you for your patience!
