I would think that is because they don't allow anything but "positive" comments. I just listened to a sermon that was full of inaccuracies. I tried to leave a comment explaining that, but then saw their disclaimer. If you are going to allow comments, then ALL comments (except profane stuff) needs to be allowed. Not allowing people to point out errors, especially Biblical ones, does NOT help the site at all. False doctrine can easily be taught, misrepresentations of the Bible can get out, etc. Please, you need to fix this. I saw this site advertised in a very conservative magazine, but after ONE sermon I don't have much trust in it.

I use the KJV because many study materials (such as Strong's Concordance) are tied to this version. The phrasing is also elegant and memorable. But I also read the NIV. And recently completed the Tyndale.

During this time the church blossomed and grew over all of the western world.
In the last 6 decades or so, we have observed the rise of the use of "modern versions" - Correspondingly during these last decades we have observed a decline in church size and sound doctrine.
Perhaps the KJV version of the "Sword of the Spirit" is a sharper blade than modern versions, as far as the Holy Spirit is concerned.
"For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart."
I too have been blessed by the KJV. Amen

Im so surprised that maybe 5% of local churches in my area use it.

How do I see the list of books?
I found the answer to my own question. Next to "Search by keyword" is a dropdown list for "Narrow results by subset filter". In the dropdown list choose "Series". This causes another dropdown list to appear containing all of the series (aka books) for that speaker (aka author).

Thank for providing this repository of audio sermons and books!

I have a question/suggestion. When I look at "Sermons by Speaker" I get to see all speakers and the number of tracks. For example, "Calvin, John - 138". When I click that link I cannot figure out how to view the list of works/books. I only see the list of individual files. How do I see the list of books?

I just want to thank SermonAudio for the wonderful job they are doing! What a blessing it is to have a "site" such as SA. May we never take this privelege for granted. I, personally, have been blessed by SA. I believe many others have been as well. SA is very faithful to the Word of God. In this day in which we live, what a blessing it is to have a "site" like SA that is so faithful in what goes on here. May our dear Lord continue to bless SermonAudio in the time we have left on this earth.

Phil, I like that one can access a message either by speaker or topic.

I volunteered to teach ESL with Internationals through the University where I live. Out of these relationships, I have two long-standing friendships, where the couples have moved, because of their jobs, to different cities. They are not Christians, but because of our relationship, I can make suggestions, such as a message to listen to on SA.
What's even more amazing is that there are messages offered in their first language.

It's a wonderful site!

Would love to correspond with any sound guys out there on the best ways to record and also to clean up the background noise on already recorded sermons. We have been using a Sony voice recorder. This week we are going to also try a wireless lavalier to a mixer to Audacity in my laptop.
I've had pretty good results cleaning up previously recorded sermons using a two step process in Sound Forge.
1. Run through graphic EQ with a "frown" shape.
2. Run through the noise gate with the following settings:
Threshold -14
Attack 93
Release 930

...I was dismayed at the vitriolic tone of several of the comments I read as I looked around in the survey section.
John, I, like most others, have often overstepped the bounds of civility, in reacting contentiously to a certain post or topic. However, this does not always betray "a bad attitude," but more often evidences "strong convictions."

"We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak;..." 2 Cor 4:13 & Psa 116:10

"Seeing then that we have such hope, we use great plainness of speech:..." 2 Cor 3:12"

"A false witness shall perish: but the man that heareth speaketh constantly." Prov 21:28

"But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, [even] Christ:..." Eph 4:15

Admittedly, the spirit of love in the latter verse is seldom practiced, and many do err in that which they profess, but I think to silence the voices of all, under the pretense of decency, is misleading and a real mistake. The fact is, doctrinal debates are always divisive (but not always destructive).

"But we desire to hear of thee what thou thinkest:..., we know that every where it is spoken against." Acts 28:22

It never ceases to amaze me how some can read "tone" (and specifically vitriol) into text-only messages. I suppose it's a gift.
