In An Everlasting Covenant Ann Childress directs our attention to the fact that Reformed theology is properly understood in a covenantal context. From the protoevangelium (first gospel) in Genesis 3:15 throughout the rest of the Bible (Old and New Testaments), God the Father reveals His covenant promises in His Son as the Second Adam, the God-man, the Federal Head of the elect in Christ Jesus. In the Scripture of the New Testament God revelas more clearly how Christ Jesus is the Joyful substance of the one covenant of grace. An Everlasting Covenantgives us a better understanding of the unity of the Bible and of our one triumne God with whom we are in covenant. Ann has given the Reformed community a straightforward teaching that is consistent with historic Calvinism. With such knowledge comes the maturity of faith that teaches us to trust in a sovereign God who has ordained all things to work together for His glory and for our benefit in Christ Jesus our Lord. I highly recommend this book for personal and women’s Bible studies. Everyone doing this study will benefit greatly in their understanding of God’s covenantal redemption. — Dr. Kenneth Gary Talbot, President of Whitefield Theological Seminary, Lakeland, Florida.
