RECAPTURE THE IDEALIST VIEW OF THE BOOK OF REVELATION!
This message of the revealed Christ, the unveiled Christ, the disclosure of Christ, was not only sent by the Lord’s messenger to John, but it was set in signs; that it was significantly symbolized. How is this revelation of Christ symbolized? It is symbolized in two significant ways: (1) who Jesus Christ is; and (2) what Jesus Christ has done; specifically and more importantly, His atoning death upon Calvary’s cross.
The book of the Revelation of Jesus Christ is symbolized in, by and through the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. In the outlines contained in this work, they were preached from what some would call an “Idealist View.” In other words, the symbols are symbolic of that which pertains to the gospel of Jesus Christ in one way, shape or form. A significant rise in liberalism and liberal theology at the turn of the twentieth century actually hijacked the symbolism in the Book of Revelation in order to satisfy personal lusts that would naturally spring forth from the flesh under a liberal theology. Symbols became subjective as they were interpreted by personal prejudices and perspectives. Interpreting symbols objectively by the gospel of Jesus Christ were thrown out the window by liberal thinking and academia. As a result, idealism in the interpretation of Revelation was shunned by more conservative and orthodox theologians.
