Noted Dispensationalist author and scholar Charles Ryrie wrote, “If the church is fulfilling Israel's promises as contained in the new covenant or anywhere in the Scriptures, then [dispensational] premillennialism is condemned.” Does the church fulfill any of the promises to Israel? This book explores these issues from an historical premillennial perspective, allowing the Bible to speak for itself as it examines the central feature of dispensational theology—the radical nature distinction between Israel and the church. After identifying the real issue between Dispensationalism and non-Dispensational systems, the book examines key passages to determine if this position is tenable. It then offers a position that seems to be both more biblical as well as more historical.
While there are many books dealing with this issue, this book distinguishes itself by speaking to those within the most conservative camps of evangelical Dispensationalism, American Fundamentalism. Because of his shared separatist position, Dr. Williams writes with an irenic spirit that calls for true fellowship surrounding the fundamentals of the faith and charity surrounding the secondary issues.
