CALL TO WORSHIP (Tune – Brethren, We Have Met To Worship – p. 15)
Glory, glory, I’m forgiven; All my sins are washed away. Christ, by His great blood atonement, All my sin has put away. Sin imputed to my Savior, When He died upon the tree, As the Substitute for sinners, God will not impute to me.
Glory, glory, I’m accepted, Robed in Christ’s own righteousness; I’m a child, an heir of heaven, Saved by God’s almighty grace. Christ’s obedience to the Father Is imputed now to me; In God’s sight I’m pure and holy, He declares me so to be.
Glory, glory, I’ll not perish, In Christ’s hands I am secure; He who saved me, sure, will keep me; by God’s grace I shall endure. This is not a vain presumption; I just take Him at His word; Christ has sworn, “They shall not perish – Who believe on Me their Lord.”

“MY HEART REJOICETH IN THE LORD”
“And Hannah prayed, and said, My heart rejoiceth in the LORD, mine horn is exalted in the LORD: my mouth is enlarged over mine enemies; because I rejoice in Thy salvation” (1 Samuel 2:1). The believer’s joy does not come from within himself. It comes by God’s grace through looking to the Lord Jesus Christ as his whole salvation and confidence of eternal life and glory. It is “joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost” who convicts him of sin, leaves him with no hope but in Christ, and drives Him to Christ as the Lord his righteousness (Romans 15:13). It is joy in knowing that “the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost” (Romans 14:17). It is joy in God’s salvation as the Lord Jesus Christ is the Author and Finisher of his salvation and his faith. This is the godly joy and confidence that inspires true worship and the obedience of grace, love, and gratitude.

It is our sins and our sins in the highest degrees and aggravations that Christ was accountable to God for, and that He bore them in this sense, by way of imputation, though none of the spot or stain by way of inherent pollution or defilement fell upon Him, nor could cleave unto Him. And we defend this position as the Spirit of God everywhere states it.

AM I REALLY SEEKING THE LORD?
“Seek ye the LORD while He may be found, call ye upon Him while He is near” (Isaiah 55:6). Seeking the Lord is not the same as seeking religion or seeking what church with which to join. Those who truly seek the Lord for salvation seek Him IN HIS WORD. The Bible is God’s revelation of Himself in the glorious Person and finished work of the Lord Jesus Christ. Christ said, “Search the Scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of ME” (John 5:39). It is stated in God’s Word that “Blessed are they that keep His testimonies, and that seek Him with the whole heart” (Psalm 119:2). Man by nature will not seek Him in His Word with the whole heart, but all who do have been blessed of God with a new heart – “And I will give them an heart to know ME, that I am the LORD: and they shall be My people, and I will be their God: for they shall return unto Me with their whole heart” (Jer. 24:7). And all who do this will find Him – “And ye shall seek Me, and find Me, when ye shall search for Me with all your heart” (Jer. 29:13). How do I know if I am truly engaged in a “whole heart” search for the Lord? It is when I am more concerned with what God says IN HIS WORD than with the opinions and ways of men. It is when I cannot be satisfied with anything less than Christ for salvation by the grace of God through His blood and righteousness alone as revealed IN HIS WORD. “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness [Christ revealed in God’s Word]; and all these things shall be added unto you” (Matt. 6:33). When people claim to search for the Lord and His truth but ignore or deny God’s truth revealed in the Bible, rest assured, they are not seeking the Lord at all. They may be seeking religion, morality, reformation, self-fulfillment, social acceptance, purpose, or self-affirmation, but they are NOT seeking the Lord.

For the Son of Man is come to seek and to save that which was lost (Luke 19:10). Where there is a sinner truly (with the whole heart) seeking the Lord, we find there has already been present in grace and in power a seeking Savior. –Copied
