It was one of the MOST MISERABLE experiences of his entire life. He now understands why professors keep bringing up their own orals from years gone by. Before it was over, the professors were literally making these kinds of remarks to one another: "Perhaps I should have dumbed down the question some." "Oh, I thought he was dumbing it down himself just fine." "Perhaps YOU should answer the question." And yet, despite the misery, he did pass, and in the post exam interview, the professors were actually quite laudatory. One professor compared David to Sasha Cohen, the US Olympic figure skater who fell flat on her face twice last night and yet somehow managed a silver medal. Clearly, the Lord is good.
