We’ll be having our PCC Movie Night this coming Thursday, which is a public holiday eve evening (23 May). The movie that we’re screening is “Amazing Grace.” This is a film
about the campaign led by William Wilberforce against the slave trade in the British Empire during the late 18th century. John Newton, the writer of the famous hymn ‘Amazing Grace,’ had a great influence on Wilberforce and hence the film’s title. This film is rated PG for thematic material involving slavery.
Before the movie, we’ll have fellowship dinner where we hope members can bring a dish to share. But in case you are unable to, please do not feel inhibited and do still come for the event, and have a time of fun and fellowship. We’ll have pop-corns as well, after all it’s a movie event, an edifying one!
The program for the evening is as follows:
7pm Meet in church
7:30pm Fellowship dinner (bring-a-dish)
8:15pm Movie ”Amazing Grace”
10:15pm Dismiss
For the bring-a-dish dinner, if you already have something in mind, I would appreciate very much if you can inform me (or any of the deacons if you cannot locate me) this Sabbath. I hope to coordinate a bit such that we have a variety of dishes to munch on J
Looking forward to seeing you there, and do bring a friend too…
