Is it TRUE that Homosexuality is not mentioned very much in the Bible, and some people are born with Homosexual Tendencies?
Answer: FALSE. The Bible does not mention ‚Äúhomosexuality,‚ÄĚ because the word is not a scriptural term.¬Ļ
Man‚Äôs terms remove the moral and spiritual connotations of a sin and treat it as something outside of God‚Äôs realm or control. The Bible uses at least fifteen different terms to identify, describe, and condemn the sin of ‚Äúsodomy.‚Ä̬≤
These terms and the contexts in which they are used explain why any nation which permits sodomy will be destroyed by God. Sodomy is the ultimate moral consequence of ‚Äúthe lie‚ÄĚ when men change the truth of God into a lie and worship and serve the creature more than the Creator. ‚ÄúFor this cause God gave them up unto vile affections‚Ķ[of sodomy].‚Ä̬≥
It is not true that some people are born ‚Äúhomosexuals.‚ÄĚ It is true that every person is born with a sin nature and that this sin nature is capable of every kind of lust and vile affection. However, in order to engage in perversion, people must first reject the moral laws of God which are written in their heart‚Āī and then become involved in sensuality. Then God gives ‚Äúthem up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonor their own bodies between themselves.‚ÄĚ‚ĀĶ
It is true that some people are born without the ability or interest to have a physical relationship with the opposite sex. These are called eunuchs in Scripture.‚Ā∂ However, this is vastly different from having a burning lust for the same sex.
The sin of sodomy is the final stage of moral decay in society. By its very nature it cannot be contained or controlled once it is given public acceptance. It constantly preys upon new victims. When God-given sexual desires are once fulfilled in a perverted way, there is a binding association with perversion. A cycle of destruction begins as new passions and perversions are sought to replace burned out lusts.
It is important to realize that the basic temptations that result in sodomy are common to all people,‚Ā∑ and that man‚Äôs solutions cannot cure sodomy. Only the power of God‚Äôs truth and the grace of God can bring freedom. God declares, ‚ÄúBehold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh: is there anything too hard for me?‚ÄĚ‚Āł
1. Some modern Bible versions use the word ‚Äúhomosexual.‚ÄĚ It is a term void of immoral implications and fails to properly remind the reader of the abominable practice of the men of Sodom and God‚Äôs resulting judgment on that sin.
2. The full sin of sodomy is detailed in Ezekiel 16:49-50: pride, fullness of bread, abundance of idleness, failure to strengthen the hand of the poor and needy, haughtiness, and committing abomination before God. The abomination of sodomy is clearly described in all its horror in Genesis 19 and also in Judges 19.
3. Romans 1:26
4. Romans 2:15
5. Romans 1:24
6. Matthew 19:12
7. I Corinthians 10:13
8. Jeremiah 32:27
Public acceptance of ‚Äúhomosexuality‚ÄĚ is the final stage of the destruction of a nation. God uses at least fifteen different terms to define the sin of sodomy and warn against it.
