Bro. Alex informs me that the swine flu is causing much sickness in Ukraine and that the government there is taking some very drastic measures to try to prevent its spread. Because of the poor economical conditions, the country is without adequate medical supplies. They are required to wear a face mask while out in public. Two of the children still in the orphanage may have this flu. Please pray that the Lord will display His great healing power in healing those who are already sick and will be pleased to keep Bro. Alex and the family well. I want to express my great appreciation for the amazing response we have received from you in sending funds for the Lord’s work in Ukraine. It has been truly an amazing outpouring of love and mercy from you. Also, I want to thank you for the clothing and other supplies you have helped us gather together to put in the container that is to be shipped to Chernigov, Ukraine in the next few weeks. The boxes are packed and waiting for the container to arrive and be loaded. Your response has been a great testimony of your love for the Lord and those children whom you have never seen. David says, the Lord is a helper and a judge of the fatherless” (Psa.10:14,18) and “a father of the fatherless…” (Psa.68:5) I am sure our Heavenly Father, who provides for the fatherless, supplies, supports, and defends them has noted every effort to help these orphans. Christ, Himself said, in the Day of Judgment, “the King shall answer and say unto them,… Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.“ (Matt.25:40) We are quickly approaching the deadline of December 21st for the payment on Bro. Alex‘s in Ukraine. We have received to date, $3500 of the final $10,000 needed to pay off the mortgage. This house has been evaluated to be worth much more than the $50,000 purchased price. It is a relatively new building, in good condition structurally and is large enough for Pastor Alex, his wife, his three children and the five recently orphaned children that he has been blessed to adopt. It is only by the mercy of the Lord and the gracious help of God’s people that we have been able to obtain this fine house for the family. I greatly appreciate all who have given so sacrificially thus far, however, we must not stop now. I remind you again that unless we are able to make this payment, we will lose the house. I ask you to make this a matter of prayer. If you would like to help with this project, please send a check to APBC Children's Fund, P.O. Box 323, Aberdeen, MS. 39730 |
