CALL TO WORSHIP
We gather this day to honor the King,
Who sits on His throne, His triumphs we sing;
The Savior who died to atone for our sin,
Came forth from the tomb and He liveth again.
Christ Jesus our Lord the battle has won,
He died and arose, the work is all done!
He took on Himself all our debt to repay,
The sins of His people are all washed away.
To Jesus our Lord all honors we bring,
And say unto death, "O where is thy sting?"
Enthroned in His glory, almighty to save,
King Jesus has triumphed oβer sin and the grave.
He rose from the tomb and reigns high above,
All praise to His Name, all power and love;
Made righteous in Jesus we someday shall rise,
To dwell with our Savior above earth and skies.
(Tune: "O Worship the King," p. 1 )

WOULD YOU BE JUSTIFIED BEFORE GOD?
Then learn one thing! Jesus Christ is ALL in justification before God! Only through Christ can a sinner have peace with the Holy God. Only by Christ alone can a sinner be accepted and admitted into God's presence. HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS is the only robe which will cover us. HIS BLOOD is the only mark that will save us from eternal death. HIS NAME is the only name by which we shall obtain an entrance through the gate of eternal glory. I pity those who try to obtain God's favor by their works; and I sound a clear warning -- you are building on sand; you are spending money for that which is not bread; you will hear Him say, "Depart from me, ye that work iniquity." But this I know -- not one person has ever entered heaven's courts with any testimony but this: "Unto Him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in His own blood -- to Him be the glory." (Rev. 1:5,6)

TRUE CONFESSIONS
I find to this day seven abominations in my heart: (1) inclinings to unbelief; (2) suddenly to forget the love and mercy that Christ manifests; (3) a leaning to the works of the law; (4) wanderings and coldness in prayer; (5) to forget to watch for that which I pray; (6) apt to murmur because I have no more, and yet ready to abuse what I have; (7) I can do none of those things which God commands me, but my corruptions will thrust in themselves, "When I would do good, evil is present with me."
These things I continually see and feel, and am afflicted and oppressed with, yet the wisdom of God doth order them for my good. (1) They make me abhor myself. (2) They keep me from trusting my own heart. (3) They convince me of the insufficiency of all inherent righteousness. (4) They show me the necessity of flying to Jesus. (5) They press me to pray to God. (6) They show me the need I have to watch and be sober. (7) And provoke me to look to God through Christ to help me and carry me through this world. Amen. βJohn Bunyan

THE QUALIFICATIONS OF CHRIST
When asked the question, ―Are you saved?,‖ many people who believe they are saved try to prove it by describing their own actions and experiences. They may say things like β ―I accepted Jesus as my personal savior when I was a young person;‖ or ―I was baptized when I was 12 years old;‖ or ―I gave my heart to Jesus and joined the church many years ago.‖ Some may even say things like β ―I had a dream (or a vision) that turned my life around;‖ or ―I had a near-death experience that caused me to turn my life around;‖ or ―I quit smoking, drinking, etc.‖ The problem is that in seeking to prove salvation by such things, people are really describing their own qualifications for salvation. The truth is this β WE AS SINNERS HAVE NO QUALIFICATIONS BY WHICH TO PROVE WE ARE SAVED. If we are truly saved by the grace of God, it is not our own qualifications but THE QUALIFICATIONS OF CHRIST WHO IS OUR SAVIOR. I can only prove my own personal salvation to anyone by describing the qualifications of my Savior. He is both God and man in one Person (John 1:1,14; Rom. 1:1-4). He is the one appointed of God to be the Savior of His elect (Isa. 42:1-4; Gal. 4:4-6). He is the one who died and put away my sins (Heb. 1:1-3). He is the one who arose from the dead because He finished the work of redemption for me (Rom. 4:23-25). He is the Lord my Righteousness by whom I stand justified before God (Jer. 23:5-7). He is my Advocate who always intercedes to plead my case (1 John 2:1-2). He is the one who preserves and protects me to the end (Jude 24-25). He is the one who is coming again to take me into glory with Him (Php. 3:20-21). He is the one who is able to save me completely and eternally (Heb. 7:25). Those who fancy themselves saved will most always talk about themselves and their own qualifications. Those who are truly saved will most certainly talk about Jesus Christ the Savior of His people. βPastor Bill Parker

In the great affair of our salvation, our God stands single and alone. In this most glorious work, there is such a display of justice, mercy, wisdom and power, as never entered into the heart of man to conceive, and consequently, can have no parallel in the actions of mortals. "Who hath declared this from ancient time? who hath told it from that time? have not I the LORD? and there is no God else beside Me; a just God and a Saviour; there is none beside Me." (Isa 45:21)
