 | MVRBC is a Baptist church preaching the sovereign grace of God in salvation, holding firmly to the doctrines of grace commonly known as Calvinism and adheres to the London Baptist Confession of Faith of 1689. The Lord has been very gracious to MVRBC, having formerly embraced Arminianism, quick prayerism, antinomianism, and a gospel of lasciviousness that rejects the necessity of the Lordship of Christ in salvation. The Lord brought MVRBC to understand the doctrine of the perseverance of the saints, the total depravity and inability of man, being dead in trespasses and sins, and the necessity of regeneration to see or enter the kingdom of God, understanding that regeneration must precede repentance and faith. God in His grace caused MVBC to see the unity of the work of the Godhead in His unconditional election before the foundation of the world, the irresistible grace and effectual call of the Godhead, and the limited atonement and particular redemption of God’s elect which actually accomplished the redemption of His people.
MVRBC has come to understand and embrace covenant theology and reject dispensational theology or Darbyism, understanding the great work of God before the foundation of the world in the everlasting covenant, being revealed to man through various covenants in the OT and culminating in the new covenant and the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ in the NT. MVBC embraces a post-tribulation, post-millennial return of the Lord Jesus Christ, in which the Lord Jesus Christ will literally reign upon the new heaven and new earth for eternity with the saints in glorified bodies. MVRBC understands the millennial reign to have begun already with the resurrection of Christ and His seating upon David’s throne. (Amillennial eschatology) MVRBC understands the bride of Christ to be a universal bride, made up of God’s elect sheep and has come to embrace a general resurrection and judgment.
