During my daily devotion this morning I was reading out of 2 Timothy 3 and I noticed that it was pointing out a few things for American Christians to avoid.
2 Timothy 3
1But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come.
2For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money,
3without self-control,
4lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,
5holding to a form of godliness, although they have denied its power
Without God being foremost in our lives we will, by default, gravitate towards these verses.
