Great Sermon! Tim, I agree with you, and I also love the preaching of Bro Barnard! This is a different take on this text than I've often heard, but it is also faithful to the text, Christ exalting, and preached in love. Thanks for commenting..
I believe 'In Thee I shall conquer by flood and by field' means that in Jehovah we conquer through the dangers of the flood and dangers of the field. In my opinion it encompasses all dangers we are faced with in the Christian life.
I realised just yesterday that each line of this poem has eleven syllables. Similarly the songs 'How Firm a Foundation' , 'My Jesus I Love Thee' and 'Away In A Manger' do too, which means it can be sung to either of these tunes.
Great Sermon! This message has truly blessed me. The ways of the world are wicked and following christ is my ultimate goal. I know the holy spirit will guide me into all truth. I have never heard a sermon like this before. I used to listen to false doctrine. Not quite understanding why I still felt unfulfilled. I am sinner, but I feel If I continue to hear the word of god,I will be changed. Thank you so much and god bless you.
Nicely said, well written, exquisitly edifying. How beautiful and pleasant it is to see the bretheren dwelling in unity. May GOD continue to enable you to herald gospel truths to a dying world, knowing that it is good news to HIS elect children. As faith comes by hearing, may GOD continue to give you the pen and voice of a ready scribe.
Fine wine Bro. Craig is rightly addressing a needful doctrine. A word fitly spoken in due season. I am of Christ, I am of Apollos, another of Cephas, is still with us today. I needed to hear this, and I'm grateful for Craig's message. I never heard him say "abandon the true gospel"; yea rather, to internalize it. Great illustration at the end!
Great Sermon! How all of us(the sheep and pastors) need to hear and be reminded of this message (this topic)more often in the grace gospel churches and how the world needs to hear it. We so often defend and push other doctrine more often than we hear this one. I was convicted of my sin of unforgivingness in my heart and the pastor did'nt have to shout at me he had a calm and factual Biblical message sometimes that goes alot further than yelling. Even though I listen to Rolfe Bernard. Thank-you Pastor Hollingsworth Tim Burnett Jacumba CA
