Sam Watne 2 comments “ Gifted Sermon! ” Dear Dr. Watne: Your sermon Consistent Family Discipline, was well given with solid bibical backing. My parents always made us kids, when we did something wrong, was to go cut a stick from the lilac bush and bring it back to the house be used on us. The few times I had to cut my own stick, reminded me of the father who made his son wait until the next day for punishment. The 100 feet walk to the lilac and back to the house seemed like a very, very, very long journey and had an effect on one's positive character building quilities, not to do wrong. As an adult, I look back and think my parents must have had at least a Masters in Child Psychology. I believe God is like that, he disaplends us firmly, mentally and physically to "Trust and Obey, for there is no other way, to be happy in Jesus, but to Trust and obey!" 7/22/05 9:00 PM Pete  from Minneapolis MN    • Add new comment Sermon: Rules are made to be broken.
