Great Sermon! I am the pastor of the Aberdeen Primitive Baptist Church, Aberdeen, MS. I agree with the subject completely. The truths of Election and Predestination did not begin with the Reformation. They began with the New Testament, and true Baptists have been preaching these truths since the days of Christ and the Apostles.
Why I AM a Reformed Baptist I can't speak for every Reformed Baptist. I can speak for myself and what I observe in other Reformed Baptist. We point EVERYONE to Christ and Christ Alone. We never point anyone to The London Baptist Confession We point everyone to Scripture. Galatians 1 is about a Gospel other than what Paul preached. Paul Preached about the Elect and about Predestination. In Romans 9, Paul knows many will reject what he is saying. We do not skip over the verses that are difficult to understand or accept. The Bible is full of the Sovereignty of God. The only reason Reformed Baptist are a new thing is because traditionally Reformed Churches are Pedo-Baptist. But we Believe in a Believers Baptism. We read the words of Paul and verses in the old testament (Ezekiel 36:26) and see a powerful God. Not a Weak God of man's design. We do not Judge God by a Standard of Man. We accept what God has spoken in his word, and try to understand it as best we can. There may be Reformed Baptist who are exactly as Jonathan Modene has portrayed them, but none that I know. We believe strongly telling the Lost about our Lord Jesus Christ. We love each other and Love the Lost and try to reach them with the Gospel. Credo Baptist yet Reformed in Soteriology.
Great Sermon! The greatest problems in the assembly (church) today is no context, seemingly few at the most elders who are qualified to teach, they say the body of Christ is under grace and always seem to find it in the recounting of Christ addressing the unrepentant lost sheep Israel who are under law under the old covenant, ignoring letters.
Much Needed As long as the churches tolerate sexual perversion in leadership, this will be a filthy epidemic. The congregation will never get right if pastors don't lead by example.
Thanks for standing up for what is godly and right in God's eyes.
Strong Sermon! Yes the apostasy is growing in many forms, music, preaching, visual and mystical ingredients that are seducing the weak Christians. I do miss the hell fire and brimstone preaching of times past. Fortunately we can still hear it on some SermonAudio messages. Very few people carry their Holy Bibles to church, and any reference to any of it is minimal and weak. In these last days we are obligated to study deeply the Holy Scriptures and not be led into false teaching. This message gives us good insight into the decline in teaching doctrine anymore.
Great Sermon! A very slippery slope to stand on . There is no question that sin is result of man rebellion against a holy God. But to say as you seem to assert that divorced Christians can not be saved( thats where you seem to be going )is totally false . The question I would have have to any believer , have you ever sinned or will you sin in the near future ? the honest answer must be "yes" This does not give Ida licence to sin as the Bible teaches. But should humble us to realize we need his mercies every
Great Sermon! Great sermon how cad divorce be okay when it tears Gods marital plan asunder. How many have fallen for another of the great deceivers lies. This message needs to be heard in every church house.
Great Sermon! I was looking for some incite on Acts 16 when I came upon your sermon. I'm going to substitute for our preacher in July while he's on vacation. Your sermon will have a very profound impact on the message I will deliver, thank you.
Great Sermon! I really appreciate the solid Biblical truth of this sermon without apology. Never mind being politically correct. Thank you also for pointing out the true role of women (I Tim. 5:14) minus the obligatory comments about God calling some women to be single, what if I never find a husband, etc.
Must listen Its a must listen for those confident in their faith. In this Sermon to his flock some very strong language is used against professing Christians of several denominations. With the harshest rebuke to those 'dirty hypocrites' in his own.
It appeals more to the flesh than the spirit, but that might account for the 5000+ downloads
By Gods Grace The Lord did nourish me with a worthy Sermon at my Church prior to listening to the conclusion of this message. Nevertheless, this is out there, and we all need to be aware of it.
