Great Sermon! With my respect to the good speaker, I believe that the scripture gave a simple and clear answer to this question:
It was his revelation to Israel as the Christ, The annointed one! ... as it is clearly indicated in John 1:31-33 ...
Joh 1:31-ESV "I myself did not know him, but for this purpose I came baptizing with water, that he might be revealed to Israel."
God bless you,
Sound exegetical teaching in my humble opinion. This gentleman in 7 minutes does what I heard countless other preachers in hours not do: reflects on the scriptures of Hebrews 6:4 and 10:26 through an exegetical study. The book's title is HEBREWS. It speaks about "the blood of bulls and goats" in verse 6 but somehow "sin willingly" in v26 has no bearing on that or the possibility of "sin" meaning "knowing what to do and not doing it". Instead let's scare the life out of the believer!
What in the world? So from chapter 6 to chapter 10 (and in between & before) is referencing the unpardonable sin? Thank God ministers like this man take the whole book and comment.
Try to return to God after terrible life decisions that have to do with repeated backsliding bc of addiction and lack of perseverance and you have to sift through eisegesis type of scripture grabbing. Man, scary stuff!
Great Sermon! I love you,Dr Cairns. Once I heard you say that there was nothing good about growing old but every day spent is one day closer to Home! Tomorrow I will turn 79! Some day I will meet you in Heaven!
Great Sermon! I agree with your comment of same sex marriage. Can you tell me how do we respond to homosexuals when they show affection for each other right front of us in a public place. Now that it's the "Law" in Calif. How do we still be like Jesus when we meet them and show that He loves all sinners but not their sin? I can see it coming that they will be more open about this as more states ok this. Thank you Steve
Great Sermon! If we need to enter the Father's presence by way of His Son's name, why do we end the prayer with "in Jesus' name?" Why not begin it that way. I always begin my prayers in the manner of "Heavenly Father, In Jesus' name....."
What is the best way to study the Bible? I would like to know the best way to study the bible. I am now reading the bible through. I enjoy the Bible a lot but am not good at understanding the reading. If you teach out of the KJV I would like your help. I listen to the video and if you could send me some information on the subject I would appreciated it Thanks for the help. Sandra Morgan
Great Sermon! This a brief but extremely helpful message for any Church. It both honours the Word of God and yet graciously maintains a positive tone for women. Despite what may prove a disappointment for some women already in an office for which they have no warrant to be, it should help them to graciously reconsider their position!
