Great Sermon! I appreciate this sermon, especially your emphasis on the anointing. It has been my experience in the New Apostolic Reformation movement that if a wolf can get the sheep to believe that he/she is more faithful, more wise, more endued with power, more anointed, then the sheep will follow them anywhere and believe anything.
Listen Up! This message is a necessary lesson for those who believe in the prosperity gospel instead of THE Gospel.
To back their own striving for material wealth, some prosperity gospel pastors claim Jesus himself was rich.
Consider Matthew 8:19-20 in its context. The scribe in this passage said he would follow Jesus WHEREVER he went. Jesus then clearly answered that he had no place to lay his head. That means, wherever this scribe would follow Jesus, Jesus would not be able to offer his place of habitation, for he had none! Simply put, Jesus was not just homeless in the area he was at in this passage - Jesus was homeless EVERYWHERE!
For those who are interested in this topic, please consider listening to this message. God bless you.
More evidence of security John and Jason continue on this series and will cover in part 5
All of our sins were nailed to His cross
I. We are no longer under the Law
We have died to sin and resurrected to new life
II. We have the Victory
III. Well I still sin as a believer
Great Sermon! Again, another short one but the sound quality is good, and this time they point to scripture that says we as true believer have the right to expose any false teaching. I've been looking for verses like that for quite a while and these guys helped me find it. May God Bless these guys.
Pretty Good The sound quality's great in this clip and I love that they cover the subject on errors in the Charasmatic Movement. I only wish that the segment was longer. It's way too short for me, but still entertaining and informative. A must listen for those who've been stung by the Charasmatic Movement.
Where did Benny get this doctrine? Where? Unfortunately, this is not something Benny Hinn shot from the hip. This is actually a pillar of Word of Faith theology. It's called the Ransom theory of atonement. See MacArthur's Charismatic Chaos, ch. 12, p. 339. This aberrant theology is one thing that distinguishes Word of Faith from Pentecostalism. (The line between the two is very fine!) MacArthur traces this back to Kenneth Hagin, although it may be in the Dake Bible too - I am not sure! See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atonement_%28ransom_view%29 for more information about its origins. Most modern expressions of this theory say Jesus had to be "born again" to have atoned for our sins. All Haginites (Hinn, Copeland, almost all TV preachers, etc) preach this theory rather than the historical Protestant/Reformed position of the WCF/LBC/etc.
Great Sermon! Part 4 continues this study and covers
I. We are a new creation
2 Corinthians 5:17-21
II. We are justified by faith and not by works of the Law
Romans 3:20-27, Galatians 3:10-13, and Galatians 3:19-24.
Since you cannot earn your salvation...then you can do nothing to keep it. If your works are not involved to be saved...then you are not working to even to keep it.
In John where Jesus teaches Eternal Security Part three continues through the Gospel of John where Jesus teaches eternal security. John and Jason covers John 11:25-26; 12:50, 14:22-23; 16:12-13, 17:3; 19:30
There is no allowence of our having to do our part to complete the work of Christ by how we live. So to teach that we can loose our salvation is saying Jesus did not finish it (John 19:30)...so we have to do our part to pay the debt. This is works sanctification to stay saved (Romans 4).
We live in sanctification for Christ because our debt is paid in full out of gratitude for His sacrifice on our behalf. We become more careful to "maintain good works" not careless.
Many good verses on security Jason and John in Part 2 build on what was started in the introdiction. I like this format where each are giving their perspective on this subject. Alot of scripture is given. If I were to gruop them (and I have...you can read my disgested version with some of my throughts at www.calledsaintsinchrist.blogspot.org)
Some Questions to answer - Opens with questions that this study will answer.
How do we become "sons of God?" - Deals with verses on our sonship with God.
Sent and Sealed- Deals with verse on the Holy Spirit
Paid in Full for All Time - Deals with verses on the time of our sin being atoned for.
Born Again, Not: Born Again and Again, and Again....Deals with verse on the "new birth" and how it explains our security.
Look and Live - Deals with how Jesu fulfilled the brazen serpent in Numbers 21
Never Thirst, Never Hunger and Never Drive Away...Eternal Life - Deals with verses that say NEVER.
The Will of the Father and of the Son- Deals with verses on God's will to loose none.
You are My Sheep - Deals with verses on Jesus owing us.
Alll these promises from the Bible shows it is impossible for a Christian to loose their salvation.
Good introduction This introduction sets the tone of the subject concerning Eternal Security. John and Jason present some of the arguements used by those who teach conditional preseverance of the saints against OSAS. They show how our doctine is not a "licence for immorality" or that we ignore other text that seem to contridict the text we use to prove eternal security. They graciously present what the answer is from the Bible....and to define what salvation is to understand what we have received in Christ Jesus.
Investigation... The investigation of datetosave continues with this report: Funny you can't find any legit information on the site or who runs it at google, but you can find where they spammed every bulletin board and blog on the Internet. If you delete all those hits, there's nothing left.
Who is Tony Deweese, the owner of these domain names? "Tony Deweese, Web Developer; cafepress.com - the website for creating and selling your own merchandise with no cost" (from www.manitobanewmedia.com). So, who sells the t-shirts at datetosave? Yes: Cafepress. My guess is datetosave is a demo of his services and not intended as a real web site.
Tony Deweese is not listed as one of the principle owners of cafepress.com (see http://www.cafepress.com/cp/info/about/team.aspx) so who knows why he did datetosave?
I doubt there is a "Tamara" and I imagine you could find the photos of "her" on a stock photo CD.
I would not give a web site like this any contact information, and certainly no credit card information. Be very, very careful.
Warning... Wow, where do I sign up!? ... I mean, of course, this is awful! :) Seriously, though, until proven otherwise, we have to assume this is a parody done by an enemy of Christ, one of many on the net. DO NOT VIST THE MESSAGE BOARD - it is filthy and sick. The web site datetosave address is registered to Tony Deweese of Oakland, California. (This must be who "thanks to Tony" is.) I can find no information on who "Tamara" is. I would be extremely cautious before giving them my e-mail address ("Get an update from Tamara whenever she goes on a date!" - ???) or ordering products and giving credit card info - who knows what this site is, when there is no name or contact information. Finally, I would avoid "Flirt to Convert Matchmaking Service" (domain registered to the same Tony Deweese) - this has all the hallmarks of an unreliable Internet site.
Should we? NO!!! "Should We Join With Rod [Parsley] to Fight the Da Vinci Code?" - the answer is a big NO!!! because R.P. is an opportunist who consistently (check his track record) turns any event of notoriety in the Christian world into a fundraiser for himself. Elections, disasters, etc - it's almost automatic that as soon as something happens, R.P. has a television special raising money for it. He has never disclosed what happens to donated money, and has zero accountability. So no Christian of any persuasion should have anything to do with him, financially or otherwise. (I'm not just saying this. Check R.P.'s track record - other than his regular yearly fundraisers at Easter and during the summer, his show cycles among re-releases of his books, his annual Partner fundraiser with its yearly product offer, and the current event du jour he's tying his fundraising to. Bascially, the only reason R.P. exists is to raise money.)
