Great Sermon! Very helpful message not just on what "tongues" is (and is not), but the Gospel significance of undoing the damage of our sin at Babel. Thank you for this truthful and heartfelt message.
Great Sermon! Thank you for speaking on holiness. This is a critical topic that, sadly, is neglected in many places. Saying no to sin and yes to Christ - and fearing not to stick out - is a major process of the Spirit's work in our lives.
Just what I needed to hear! This was just the sermon I needed to hear today. I got saved about a year ago after spending about five years deeply in the new age. Three of those years I was a student of the Course in Miracles. This week, I'd been getting discernment about 'Jesus Calling', as a woman in my bible study spoke that she depends on the book daily. It sounded to me like another version of the Course in Miracles, just more acceptable in the church. I am always seeing slight overlap of new age teachings taught in a Christian manner in the church, and I am more able to identify it as a false teaching because of my past in the new age, but it is troubling how many Christians lack discernment in this regard.
You spoke of peyote in this sermon, and I wanted to share what I have witnessed. Before getting saved, I was a hippie traveler living in Hawaii. On the Big Island in particular, it is growing more common that people, while doing, Ahyuasca meet and encounter 'Jesus' or 'Mary'. Obviously though, this is not the real Jesus, because if it were, the encounter would lead to repentance, saving faith and belief in the Word. It only gives people a sense that they have encountered Christ, and know from their personal experience more than what the Bible teaches. It hardens them. Difficult times we are libi
Great Sermon! I appreciate this warning. Beth Moore's series on King David was a great teaching series years ago and spurred me on to study the Bible deeper for myself and to spend more time in the Word of God. I haven't followed her and am sorry to see that she is moving so far from her beginnings. I do wonder if she has continued daily Bible study or is merely coasting on what she learned years ago. I also wonder if she remains teachable or if she is submitted to a Bible-believing and teaching church. It is easy for any of us, especially those gifted to study and teach the Word of God, to lose their purpose and perspective without oversight. Teaching needs to be based in the local church where it can be overseen by the church leaders in order to prevent error.
Powerful message! A member of my church attended this conference and recommended this presentation by Dr. Baucham. It is very educational and enlightening. Like most Christians I had a wrong view of the story of Gen 37. Listen to this message; then praise God for raising up men such as Voddie Baucham and equipping them to edify the saints.
