Great Sermon! So goid to get spiritual, scriptural treatment of an issue that gets mixed up with so much confusion and nonsense.
It shows us that the number is of man in , of and under the spirit of antichrist that has always been in the world. It keeps changing its guise, its form in each and every age. But the spirit of the age is always the spirit of antichrist. Where as the spirit of Christ is always the same. As C S Lewis said whats not eternal is eternally out of date.
The other crucial matter is that he is a master counterfeiter, it is not just a battle between good and evil as understood in the usual natural "common sense" way,He uses our revulsion of explicit and "extreme" evil to have confidence in our own sense of goodness and virttue before God. This unholy spirit takes the form of a false christ that deceives the world and the church. This christ the natural heart finds attractive as it bolsters its desire for independant wisdom and enlightenment and to merit favour with God, or to deny Him which ammounts to the same thing. The true Christ and His Cross of atonement in our place, the natural mind finds offensive and resents deeply, that is unless God in His amazing Sovereign Grace melts that heart and turns that mind.away from antichrist in God given repentance and faith.
Great Sermon! A wonderful and uplifting sermon showing us how to avoid legalism and enslavement to an unlawful relationship to the law. It brings us beautifully to the law of faith in and of the living Jesus Christ. Praise God, and thank you Lin Brown.
Great Sermon! Enjoyed reading this. I am Primitive Baptist and have always been. It warms my heart to learn there are many who believe in Gods wondrous soveriegnty. Gods blessings on you and your congregation.
Good perspective Thank you for your PDF on 1 John 4. A helpful contrast between the true comfort for the believer in Christ in the midst of a confusing and depraved world. Also appreciate the teaching that He can return at any time (yet we do not have to live in despair whether He does now or later).
Wonderful Sermon! Thank you brother Shawn for this very excellent sermon that was a real blessing to my heart. My daily battle with my evil old man has often left me wondering if I was even a Christian and so it was good to be reminded of the sinless incorruptible seed of Christ within each believer even when we feel so far from Him. Thank you so much for this encouragement in this awful battle we're engaged in on a daily basis. God bless you brother and I look forward to meeting you someday here or there, and I really look forward to listening to the rest of your sermons!
Great Sermon! THANK YOU for teaching this rightly!! We are so sick of the 'left behind' stuff. Little do they know how dangerous that teaching is. But, His elect won't be fooled....praise God! We praise Him for giving his elect the eye salve to see the TRUTH!! And once again, thank you for preaching it.
