“ Great Sermon! ” I love this story which demonstrates the power of god. Most people think of power as being something that causes a big explosion but gods power is gentle and irresistible - it seeks out the lost from the highways and byways. All glory be to the lord god of Israel.

At the same time, we cannot understand fully an infinite God, we must accept that we cannot know all things. This incomprehensible God revealed Himself in Christ.

“ Winning argument only. ” Bildad shows no compassion to Job and ignores his accusations that he and the other 2 friends are showing no compassion. Bildad wants only to win an argument. Excellent the discussion about the righteousness of God and human sin, and the possibility that a righteous God should bless a sinner.
“ No compassion. ” The tragedy of wishing to win an argument, without manifesting compassion. Of being proud with our doctrine, without compassion and love.
“ No compassion. ” Fundamental assumption of Eliphaz, that the suffering of Job is because of his sin is wrong. So the cases he develop. He is without compassion, wants to win an argument, he is not a useful counselor.
“ Great comfort. ” Profound and comforting message. There is a place in the Christian life for spiritual desertion, but this do not mean that God's love for us ceases. Causes, impact and remedy of spiritual desertion. Excellent biblical argumentation, very useful the quotations from the Puritans.
