Sermon:
Ulster Crisis - 2006-2008
Rev. Ivan Foster
1
comment
“ A Challenging & Poignant Sermon ”
In this heartfelt sermon, Ivan Foster examines the commission Christ expressly assigned to His Church of preaching the gospel (Mark 16:15) in the context of the Free Pres.Church's emerging role in the politics of N.I.& the inherent conflict of interest it represents & the bitter harvest of both division & strife it produced in its aftermath within the body of Christ. The heaviness of heart with which this man of God solemnly recounts the tragic events that culminated in the present power-sharing government of N.I. is very much reminiscent of the prophet Jeremiah, whose burden it was to denounce the sin of Judah accompanied by weeping & lamentations over them. An instructive message of significance & relevance that crosses denominational lines to those within the professing church of Jesus Christ, who have embraced the leaven of wordliness and forsaken the “old paths” (Jer. 6:16)& are reposing their trust in the arm of flesh and not in the “arm of the Lord.” (II Chron. 32:7-8) Ivan Foster poignantly reproves those who have undermined the cause of Christ in so doing, by prayerfully exhorting them to repent and return unto their first love. (Rev. 1-3) "He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches." Rev. 3:22

“ Great Sermon! ”
This is a great sermon for the Church to remember in this modern age of falling away. The rise of Apostasy is so widespread it feels like our walls and gates are damaged. This exhortation from Nehemiahs great work should inpire us to be doers of the Word and continue our great work in the Church.

“ Great Sermon! ”
That was a really good sermon, we are warned about the traps of Satan, to us caring for our friends, and what the Lord Jesus has done for us. I think we need more messages like that to wake us Christians up. we have to read the word of God in depth, and put those things into pratice. so that people can see Christ in us. thank you Rev Foster keep up the good fight for the souls of mankind.

regarding those that believe the Scriptural Doctrine of Exclusive Psalmody Its not ZEAL without KNOWLEDGE but ZEAL ACCORDING TO KNOWLEDGE.... Exculsive Psalmody is what the scripture teaches and it is very clear to any thinking christian who does not refuse to simply stick their head in the sand but wishes to honestly evalute the scriptures

REGENERATION - a divine work
Rev. Ivan Foster

“ Great good work of God. ”
It is a work that brings us to heaven, but not our work, but God's work. It is a good work, that produces good fruit in us; this work has a beginning; it is an internal work, which has evidences; it is a work that continues. God will perfect this work in us and we will be like His Son.

“ Interesting Analysis ”
Rev. Foster, thanks so much for this sermon - it is top notch preaching on the financial crisis the world faces. How very clearly you articulate the seduction of the world, and sadly many Believers, by commercial success. The analysis of the coming Babylonian world order, with its religous apostacy, political power, and economic success, is very clearly presented. How sad it is to see Christians drawn in to political and religious ecumenism by the "bottom line." In many many cases, materialism has separated us from our first love for Christ! As you put it, the sweet wine that draws men into great wickedness is very often prosperity bought at the price of compromise. In the churches, it is the fault of the shepherds for not boldly proclaiming God's Word to the people. How I pray that the church in Kilskeery will be able to find a new minister that will maintain the standard you have raised during your time there!

“ Great Sermon! ”
Saw the other day, -A Jesus fish on a car with an Obama sticker next to it. -A descending dove with the name of a non-denominational denomination that came out of the Jesus movement of the 1960's on a car, with an Obama sticker next to it. -A car with a pro-life license plate.....and an Obama sticker next to it. Many Christians in America are now seeking the economy first and hoping that God's kingdom will be added unto it. Lord have mercy on this nation, especially the church that is within her!! Thank you Rev. Foster for a most edifying message. I repent!!

I am about to start on the long road of Home education with my four young children. If I had a local school run by the Free Presbyterian Church I would reconsider and send them there. As for that reporter, pathetic emotional journalism.

Yet again another timely message for all in Ulster. One wonders how the Big man was able to embrace the US President this past week when Bush recently spoke of seeing God in the eyes of the Pope. Galatians 5 v1

Timely and needy message in a day of sellout as far as the DUP is concerned. Whilst the views of Iris Robinson MP must be supported we wonder just exactly what the motive is - it could be an attempt to win back some votes lost because of what the DUP have done ! We need to stand clearly in support of the integrity and honesty of Jim Allister MEP.
