“ Great argumentation. ” Excellent, biblical argumentation. Not speculation, not philosophy, not forced interpretation. But explanation of words and of text in context.
“ Kept by God. ” Our great assurance: we are kept persevering through faith by the power of God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. This is how sure our salvation is!
“ Hermeneutics. ” To evaluate Calvinism, we need: submission to the authority of Scripture (not the reason of man is the authority); respect the voice of the Church (great men of God believed it); recognize the spirit of the age, which is opposed to this doctrine.
“ Sovereignty and grace. ” God's sovereignty in creation, in governing the world, the actions of men. God planned every detail of history.God is sovereign in salvation also. And God is a gracious God.
“ Sovereignty of God exalted. ” Good biblical argumentation. Explanation of what foreknowledge and foreordination is. Condition of election is found in God and not in the sinner. God had chosen some for salvation only out of His love.
“ Needed. ” If God's grace would be resistible, every men, dead in sin, would reject salvation. It is needed God's power to save a sinner. Irresistible grace do not mean that God violates the will of man, but that He draws men inclining their will to embrace Christ. He frees the will of men from the bondage of sin.
“ Good argumentation. ” Good refutation of this doctrine. Examples of hyper-Calvinists mentioned: Hoeksema and Gospel Standard Baptists. Hyper-Calvinist errors regarding common grace and the offer of the Gospel to everyone refuted.
“ Biblically argued. ” Clear, easy to follow and understand, message. Biblical arguments at every step. Bible verses very well chosen. Useful message. Excellent introduction in the subject.
“ Great Sermon! ” An excellent look at Augustine, bad boy intellectual turned major theologian and defender of the faith. Phillips takes you down all the paths and twists and turns in one of the most fascinating Christians who ever lived during the fall of Rome.
“ Great Sermon! ” This is truly an amazing and inspirational story showing how our Might God can work through an ordinary man with a heart on fire for Jesus. I was truly encouraged and challenged by the life of Hudson Taylor. This is something everyone should listen to.
“ Wow! ” Just an incredible story of the life of Mary Jones. I did not know of her before this sermon sadly, but thanks to sermonaudio and Pastor Michael I do now! A must hear for all Christians.
“ Great gift given by God to His church. ” I thank God for the excellent information this message contains and for the pleasure He gave me in listening to it. I wrote down many pages of notes. I thank God also for a man as Spurgeon given to His church. The reader speaks perfectly understandable, not very quickly, so it is not a burden to follow. Excellent work! Thank you!
“ Excellent Series! Must Hear! ” This series on the Word and Mr. Watson's thoughts on the Word is absolutely excellent. This particular lesson, #2, is TREMENDOUS. A must hear! I've listened to it several times and, as a preacher myself, have taken these truths to task. Thank you, Pastor Michael.
