Thanks for the info! I finally was able to find out what is going on over there and sadly to say the USA also is being named out in this conflict. Continue to Pray for all who are involved with this issue.
Great Sermon! Excellent article which presents an extremely complex and eternal ethical issue. Best to stay with the church who advises that love and life remain together. Any other solution will cast down unmitigated woe upon mankind.
Staying True to The Word Pastor Trevor, thank you for posting the sermon from Grace Church explaining their change in viewpoint. If you mess with Scripture long enough and you can get it to agree with whatever point you are trying to make. The pastor and leadership at Grace Church interjected a human worldview in order to supersede what God clearly states. To say Jesus would be disqualified as a teacher because he wasn't married as a reason to have women be pastors is a big leap and taking great liberty in interpretation. We must remain true to the Bible. There is no wrong that needed to be corrected and women are no less than men because God defined roles for His people.
Truth is Essential Pastor Trevor points out the need for Biblical truth above personal feelings, emotions, political correctness, and social agenda's. The importance of fundemenal, orthodox interpreatition in a world that wants to do whatever they want with no regard for Scripture is very important. It truly is the slippery slope if you don't adhere to truth.
Find me a news story that has reported on this story and bothered to make a distinction on what form of satanism they were referring to in their report? I made it very clear why I referenced the book. I was able to rule out LaVeyan Satanism in one program. It tool the High Priest of the Satanic church to call CNN before they even addressed the differences. LaVeyan Satanism has an official church and branches in almost every country. Basic rule of journalism, make distinctions and do research. I did both. Not sure how that is not understood
when i had interests in the occult i wouldnt give the satanic bible the time of day. could i ask why you seem focused on this book regarding this news item? the people who do these crimes wouldnt bother with anton either. what makes you think most people associate satanism with this book?
Great Sermon! His argument is incorrect as he does not differentiate between culture and theology. Culture demeans women because culture is invented by sinful man. Headship and order are important in the local church or physically the church will be chaotic. More impt, Spiritually, men cannot wear a head covering because the head of man is Christ while women must don a head covering. This is not to demean a woman. It is a spritual instruction from the lips of God almighty. There are also other spiritual reasons which in our finite minds we cannot comprehend. For instance, our worship is observed by the elect angels. However women can speak in an all-woman's worship meeting or if she is teaching children. In fact head covering and silence for women are only strictly practiced in the worship service or in the Lord's Supper meeting. Outside of the worship meeting, women of course can speak freely.
Great Sermon! Hey Trevor I really enjoyed this message that you posted to SermonAudio.com. I agree with the article completely! I recently got into an intense debate over whether Furtick was a true minister of God or just a false prophet and I labeled him false the other one didn't and he believed it wasn't false because of the scope of his ministry. I would comment on your blog but I'm rather internet-ignorant (I have started listening to you after I got saved though and I enjoy every one) but is there a way you can do an in-depth sermon on Steven Furtick ministries. Because I do agree with Rosenberg when he mentioned that Furtick could easily become a cult leader and his vision surpasses that of Osteen (which I disagree with completely) and its implications of the future of American Christianity! Hopefully I'll hear from you.
Until next time!
common denominator Yes!Trevor. As you stated, many of the "christian" churches downplay doctrine and place emphasis on community. It might be easier for the atheist churches to join the ranks of the emergent churches which just want to "entertain..but not just entertain..also socialize". And since many "christian" churches and very high profile evangelists embrace ecumenism, maybe the atheist churches could save themselves the trouble and just be grafted into the already existing "modern" churches...they might find that they have much in common.
