Very Misleading!!! I totally agree with Arthur. The interviewee mentioned the word "immigrant(s)" over and over again' but the subject is illegal immigration. Our country has a quota on the number of legal immigrants that are allowed in this country for good reason. Just like a town that has a growth boom it has to spend money on services (garbage, police, water, etc.) for those who move there; so it will implement controlled growth. Our country limits legal immigration for the same reason. Also we have a limit on how many legal immigrants we can take in from each country per year; that includes both Russians & Mexicans; each prospective immigrant has to file for citizenship so a background has to be accomplished. Russia share a border with us at Alaska and they aren't crossing the Bering Strait to come here illegally. Canadians aren't doing this either; only Mexicans. I am a black Christian (if you want to label me) and I have many brothers of every ethnicity and I haven't heard one speak evil of Mexican illegal immigrants. However, their criticism is that grants & scholarships should be 1st offered to their children rather to children of parents who CHOSE to come here unlawfully.
Wrong Perspective! I have been wanting to hear a biblical view of this very important topic -Illegal Immigration - and this commentary and interview are far from that type of view. I will save the bulk of my comments for the email - but regular listeners to this program should know that this view does not appear to come from someone that follows Christ! When you pick a side on a debate as a believer you need to look at your company (those that hold the same position) So for example if you are pro- life and pro marriage, you need to ask yourself some important questions if you find that you agree with the President for example on the issue of Immigration. Since he is pro abortion and for same gender marriage. The title of this broadcast is also misleading - the game that was cancelled really did not address the real problems with illegal immigration.
Too critical! Great history sermon. However, I think you are a bit too critical of the Pentecostal movement as you focus more and more on what divides rather than what binds. I'll like you to do a sermon on why the manifestations of the spirit in our present day is wrong. I've heard you make very intelligent points on homosexuality and many other controversial topics. Please do same basing every point on scriptures. I'll like to hear your clear evidence on why cessation is the way to go as christians. I haven't heard a strong scriptural point from you yet!
Informative. Not to add insult to injury, but i am so glad i don't live in USA, or neither in the north or south American continent. If i'm in the north, i'll feel that i'm in bondage to the south. And if i'm from the south i'll feel oppressed from the north.
Great Sermon! I always tort that AOG was a cult. I was too lazy to read up on their statement of faith. Thks to u, now i know they are just plain old pentacostals/charismatics, except for the splinter group that u brought up. Really appreciate again your detailed exposition.
Important message I appreciate the fact that you took the time to speak about the important definition of modalism. Many people do not realize what they say when they say it. I would like to point out that belief in modalism, that is, the belief that God manifests Himself at certain times as the Father, at certain times, as the Son and at certain times as the Holy Spirit can also lead to the summation (not sure if that is the right word) that all different types of false gods can be the living God (reasoning that as God manifests Himself in different ways)which is blasphemy. Too many times I have heard excuses for this. God is who He is and He will not be changed. He has declared the truth in His word.
Thought provoking I grew up in Texas playing baseball and football and remeber this mindset on the field more so than the on the couch or in a stadium. Hoping to get the big hit, possibly taking the star quarterback out of the game, or making the guy pay for daring to touch my home plate.it is not Christian, but most things in the "American Dream" are not Christian either. Sacred cow indeed.
Great Sermon! I just had to walk through a major hospital in Philadelphia. I must have missed the healings, maybe I could see through all of the wires, tubes and machines. If the charismatics are correct, this hospital should not exist. Why doesn't Benny Hinn walk into a hospital and start healing people there instead of his staged performances? If you can show evidence of one healing, I will believe that the gift continues today. Of course, Jesus can heal, but that does prove that Christians have the gift of healing. Where is the proof?
Message to Hammack I love your programs - they are quite insightful. But this time, I beg to disagree. Let's be logical and lay one straight christian fact, the ONLY basis for doctrine is the bible. I don't think it's right to base your arguments on physical and observable evidence and out-rightly ignore scriptural facts, build a case on non-scriptural facts or on deductions of men. If God wanted us to ignore these gifts, I think it would have been abundantly clear in scriptures. The fact that we don't see these gifts in abundance right now only buttresses the need for Christians to sit up and seek God. After-all, even Jesus could not perform miracles in a certain location not because the gifts had ceased, but for a pervasive lack of faith. I choose to put my trust in scriptures even when all evidence negates it (HEB 11:1)
