Perkins on Conversion This narration is now 27 years old. I was reflecting on this because the book is now available in modern typeset for free for the Kindle. Now 27 years later I have narrated that section again for my own edification. http://puritanaudiobooks.com/2013/04/14/william-perkins---cases-of-conscience-on-conversion-1602.aspx Back then I used a dual cassette deck with a built in microphone. It was all I had in those days. |

Richard Bennett, Berean Beacon, On the Inquisition Greetings Denny. Thanks for the comment. When we listen to this message the music is very low and all the voices are easy to hear. You may want to adjust the way your system handles sound, as that may help, or listen using headphones. There may also be a difference in the way you systems handles the MP3 versus the video, so you may want to try both. I hope this helps. Also, this important documentary was provided to us by Richard Bennett of BereanBeacon.org, to place on SermonAudio, and we have no direct control of the content of the message itself. More free resources on the Papal Antichrist and the Inquisition are at: Great Debate! Is The Papacy The Antichrist? Fantastic Sermon By Charles Spurgeon (Baptist)! Though this may be one of Charles Spurgeon's best sermons, it does contain some ill-advised praise for the usurper and "Judas of the Covenant" (i.e., Solemn League and Covenant) Oliver Cromwell. For more on Cromwell's true character, in an online debate, please see OLIVER CROMWELL at http://ow.ly/iyHDy or http://www.swrb.com/newslett/actualNLs/crom.htm. Here is a excerpt from this debate: "For a faithful look at Cromwell (who was unaffectionately know among the Presbyterian's of his day as the "late usurper"), and the dissimulation, covenant-breaking and tyranny (he executed Christopher Love a covenanted Presbyterian minister, jailed others, included Thomas Watson and generally scuttled the Presbyterian establishment [to his shame and dishonor]) of his military dictatorship, see the book noted below. ... Cromwell was used of the devil to accomplish things that he (i.e. Satan) could never have accomplished with the more obvious antichrist religions which were not pluralistic (e.g. Romanism, Episcopalianism, etc.). Satan had employed these persecuting beasts often up to this point in history, but now it was time for a new twist, and Cromwell fell right into the devil's trap." |

Great Sermon! The command to marry is not to the extent that some do not have the blessing of marriage. Marriage is a choice by both male and female, and no one can be forced to marry. The command is in light of the only choice of sexual expression is indeed marriage. It may come down to the reality that, at times, some singles will be more lonely than those who are married. This is an excellent sermon and good for both single and married to listen to. We in the church must model the grace and holiness God has for each of his children. |
