Dr. Joel Beeke 3 comments “ Great Sermon! ” Dr. Beeke is one indefatigable laborer for the Lord. The amount of writing he does is amazing. This is a great book as well. Richard Bennett 2 comments “ Great Study ” Thank you Brother Bennett for taking a very bold stand for the truth. I agree with Louis about the U.S.A. I live in cold, liberal, clueless MN. We are a country of "ever learning but never coming to the truth" I invited a co-worker to church and he told me if he walked into a church the holy water would boil and a lightning bolt would fall from heaven. This prompted me to do further study on the catholic church and was astonished at the power and control it has had through the ages. I have been set free from the deception of the health and wealth gospel with ministers who remind the church not to question "God's anointed" and live lives of extravagant material excess unquestioned. The true gospel of Jesus Christ brings glory to GOD alone and humbles, not exalts man. When we listen to this message the music is very low and all the voices are easy to hear. You may want to adjust the way your system handles sound, as that may help, or listen using headphones. There may also be a difference in the way you systems handles the MP3 versus the video, so you may want to try both. I hope this helps. Spurgeon 1 comment “ Fantastic Sermon By Charles Spurgeon (Baptist)! ” Though this may be one of Charles Spurgeon's best sermons, it does contain some ill-advised praise for the usurper and "Judas of the Covenant" (i.e., Solemn League and Covenant) Oliver Cromwell. Richard Bennett 2 comments “ Powerful Sermon! ” This is a fantastic message denouncing RC religion. It opened my eyes as to how wrong the RC religion is and how it's leading many followers to hell. While I was brought up a RC, I turned away from it many years ago, and in the past 10 yrs. I've been "born again" and have Christ Jesus as my Lord and Savior and have been blessed far beyond what I expected and desired. Jonathan Edwards 1 comment “ 5 Minutes in Hell? ” So many reflections while perusing this sermon. Even 5 minutes of what Edwards describes is over whelming. But the idea that he presses that makes the eternality of punishment unavoidable is a missing theme in most concepts of God in our day. That is, that God utterly hates the subjects of His wrath, and mercy and hatred are inconsistent with each other. So there is no hope that after billions of ages He will suppose the punishment is enough, because then He would have to at once love that which He now loathes. Since Dec. of 1985 I have narrated Edwards' sermons and it doesn't get any easier to come to grip with his language. He used all thought at his disposal to convey such an awful reality. Richard Bennett 2 comments “ Great Sermon! ” Here in America, we are taught nothing but lies. We are taught nothing but lies in school and the Catholic Church is not singled out. Spanish Inquisition was about Christians killing Moslems and the word Jesuit is unknown to Americans. By the way, the South was solid Protestant and Jesuits controlled both sides of the Civil War. All the destruction was in the South. That tells you where the Protestants lived. They killed Lincoln like they killed Napoleon. They were used and discarded. Thank you for being a man. Our Churches have none. The Pope owns them and all of our media forms and of course the White-House. Pastor Alan Dunn 2 comments “ Great Sermon! ” The command to marry is not to the extent that some do not have the blessing of marriage. Marriage is a choice by both male and female, and no one can be forced to marry. The command is in light of the only choice of sexual expression is indeed marriage. It may come down to the reality that, at times, some singles will be more lonely than those who are married. This is an excellent sermon and good for both single and married to listen to. For Their... J. C. Ryle 1 comment “ Who is sufficient for these things? ” Not long ago I read through page after page of Foxe's Book of Martyrs. Then I listened to two different audio narrations of this title. Here I was faced with a type of Christianity that is impossible for human nature unaided by Divine grace. But I admit there is no natural attraction to read about someone being burned at the stake for the cause of truth, a martyr beating his breast with one hand till it was burned to a stump (John Hooper). Then thinking of Watt's hymn, must I be carried to the skies on flowery beds of ease, when others fought to win the prize, and sailed through bloody seas. There is only one conclusion, only the Spirit and the Truth can enable anyone to endure and overcome. Still the meditation is what I feel I need to flatten my own pride and lay me in the dust to realize afresh, apart from Me, ye can do nothing.
