Passion for Christ. Paul's passion for Christ. In the light of the danger in the church of Colosse, where false teachers taught that Christ is not enough for salvation and sanctification, Paul writes to exalt Christ's sufficiency.
This was a very interesting post and I do feel that if you are going to study a book it does make it more meaningful to read it. I am going to go through and listen to this series. It sounds like the Lord is truly blessing the church. May God continue to bless.
Biblical. Very wise and healthy lesson: marriage is a school for sanctification. A school in which God teaches us self-denial. We will give account one day for what we had done with our spouses: we lead them in the way of sin or in the way of sanctification. We are responsible for the spiritual condition of our spouses!
Great blessing! A blessed message to my soul! Great idea: the ministers in the church are God's gifts for the church - this helps us to appreciate them more. I liked especially the idea about what is not in the list in verse 11! Excellent teaching about the role of the church.
God in the family. A plea for re-centering our family lives on the Lord. The authority in our families have to be the teaching of the Bible. A Spirit filled life creates a life devoted to God, to loving our family members, gives us power to forgive and to serve God together.
The otherness of God. Exalting the otherness of God: Gos is self-existent, self-sufficient, and infinitely perfect in all His attributes and actions. It was good to listen to a new sermon from you!
Power of Gospel to change lives. Threefold thanksgiving; threefold knowing of their election; three ways in which the believers are examples for other churches; three ways in which their lives are backing the Gospel message.
Great work of God. Excellent description of the meager beginning of Christ's Kingdom here, His humility in coming on this earth, His life in Palestine, His death and resurrection, His little group of apostles. And the great reality of the growth of the Kingdom for 2000 years now and the promise that it will growth exceedingly and will be greater than any other earthly kingdom.
