Excellent Sermon! Highly recommend this God-honouring and Spirit-led message from our brother. After listening to the sermon, one prayer to God was that He would raise more vessels for His glory like our brother.
Great Sermon! The great love of God is shown in his warning before destruction, and by his grace draws and save yeilding spirits. Great is His mercy.
Great Sermon! I needed to hear this and have shared it with someone else who may also benefit from your spirit-led words. Thank you for surrendering to God in your ministry - this sheep appreciates it!
hear the truth unconditional election is such a beautiful and precious truth. the reason so many are unwilling to accept this is because it conflicts with man's prideful and willful nature. who are we to say that we have authority over our own salvation when the scriptures clearly teach that God is sovereign over all of creation. that means us too! I rather am humbled that God would choose me who is such a filthy sinner, out of His mercy. is there unrighteousness with God? God forbid!
but yes, we should proclaim the good news of the Gospel to whomever God puts in our path. for we know not who God's elect are, and we may be the vehicle which God has chosen to bring the light of Jesus to!
just because we cannot understand fully, doesn't mean it isn't so. our finite minds cannot always grasp what God's infinite mind can. just trust.
enlightening To quote or at least paraphrase Richard, "Martin Luther couldn't figure this out, but I have it nailed." He said it jokingly, but it illustrates the difficulty of understanding this passage.
Your exposition of this passage has given me a lot to think about Richard. My interpretation of verse 18-22 was different. However, the way you illustrated who these spirits were, and used Scriptures (II Peter 2:1-6, Jude 6-7 and Genesis 6) appears to show exactly what you shared.
I was not accepting that Christ preached in Hades, because He did not suffer there for our sins. He said on the cross that "it is finished." However, I see now that such a position does not mean that Jesus could not have gone there and proclaimed something to the Spirits.
One question. I am not a Greek scholar. But doesn't the word for "made alive" in verse 18 mean to make alive/reanimate rather than keep alive?
It is always edifying to listen to such excellent expository preaching.
Excellent Teaching Richard, your semron was thorough, balanced, clearly biblical and deeply challenging for those who minister in local assemblies entrenched in tradition that may not be working anymore. Thank you....and forgive me ahead of time for plagarizing some of your dieas for my message this coming Sunday evening.
Great Sermon! Indeed the peace and joy that passes all understanding is one of the most compelling marks of a true believer.
The joy of so great a salvation never stops and just seems to get deeper and deeper in my life. I was saved nearly 35 years ago.
Great Sermon! New words wouild have to be minted to capture the excellence of this series on the Book of Ruth--Enriching--Uplifting--And delivered with enthusiastic clarity--Wonderful!!
Great Sermon! I really enjoy and i am also blessed by God through Pastor Richard Caldwell Jr. Iam praying for you.Keep up the good work of God.
Your brother in Christ

Great Sermon! I've listened to the first two so far and they have been a real blessing and challenge. Being a missionary in Mexico, starting a church from 0, there are still some things that we are working through. Appreciate your faithful Bible preaching and teaching Pastor Caldwell. Keep on keeping on.
Great Sermon! Thank you, Pastor Caldwell, for this excellent series on the Lord's church! I'm a missionary-pastor to the Yup'ik Eskimo, by God's grace and in His mercy, our congregation is on the verge of developing into what a true church of Jesus Christ should be. While I've been away in California putting together a series of messages to help our congregation understand the function and importance of the church, your series has just saved me a lot of work, as I will be able to share your messages with our leadership, and present a more modest teaching to our congregation as a whole. Glory to God! This series is a must listen for every Christian. Thanks again. Your co-laborer in Christ, Jon Cardwell.
Great Sermon! Pastor Caldwell: I wanted to personally and publicly thank you for this awesome series on the church.
My own soul has been greatly edified and I praise God for calling up godly Pastor's like you who teach the whole oracles of God to His church.
I'm saddened by the multitude of phoney preachers in our land who preach another gospel to the detriment of many souls. I thank you Pastor for being a true Shepherd and my prayers are with you. "Soli Deo gloria"
Cathy B.
Great Sermon! Excellent teaching! The charismatic movement offers many temptations through carnal experiences that lead people away from God's objective truth. This movement is rife with manufactured miracles and spiritual superiority. Paul warned that wolves will come in and devour the flock. This is exactly what the charismatic movement is doing.
Looking forward I look forward to listening to this series. I just finished a series through I John not too long ago. I assume you will handle the text as well as you always do.
Great Sermon! A very sound convicting sermon!!!
Pastor Caldwell continue to preach the Word, as God gives it to you..
Great job!!
In Jesus name.Amen
An Answered Prayer I have been praying for the Lord to clarify for me, exactly what this sermon taught me today. I was pretty sure I was filled with the Holy Spirit..but know I know fore sure. And I know a lot more as well that will enhance my spiritual life forever. Thank you for a well put, well understood sermon on a what was once to me, a complicated subject. WELL DONE.
