The Start of Something Very Special God really used this message in my life. Ravenhill was introduced to me by Paul Washer in two of his sermons. I thought I'd check him out. So I listened to this. Ok, so it is not 'text-book' preaching. By that, I mean it has little structure. I understand this and I would not want to imitate Ravenhill here. But my goodness: it is powerful! And it was really interesting. And the message got across anyhow. It started up some passion in me which I had never known before as a Christian.
I fell in love with this man and I have learnt so much from him. Mostly, his emphases are revival and prayer. He is wonderfully useful to get acquainted with. I don't know how it is possible to be a half-hearted Christian if you listen to enough of Ravenhill. And you will be a great blessing to others around you.
Warning: don't preach when you are obsessively listening to Ravenhill!
Outstanding! One of the Best I have listened to this at least five times now. What a message! Genuinely one of the best sermons that was preached last century. Just as relevant today also. And my my! From the OT! It just goes to show...
Great Sermon! This is a great sermon that I praise God that I came upon. I plan to listen to more sermons by Ian Thomas as a result. This sermon reminded me that I must die to myself and allow Christ to live through me no matter where that takes me.
Encouraging New Year's Eve Message A good, wide-ranging message from Dr. Tozer, which despite the 1960 date was by Tozer's internal references preached on Sunday, December 31, 1961 looking ahead to 1962. Still timely and relevant after almost 50 years.
Inspiring Sermon I am challenged by this sermon to avoid the dangers mentioned by the preacher. I am made to reflect on my many years of ministry, especially on whether or not i take over the ministry or allow God to be first in command
Wonderfuly Convicting ! We are going on a second generation of those who have never even heard of things like this, much less that have experienced that wonderful power of God that brings the spirit of prayer and holiness.
Lord, raise up those who will learn from these revivals, and cry out to God for it again.
Great Sermon! According to the Greek translation of the New Testament, I Cor 14: 34 & 35, the word "woman is translated "wife/wives". In searching out bible history, the women at that time were on one side of the congregation and the men on the opposite side. The trouble was that the wives would attempt to speak to their husband across from them and of course, this caused confusion and disruption. Paul was admonishing the women/wives, that if they had any questions to ask of their husbands, there were to ask at them home. In using women, God has no respect of persons. It was a woman Jesus gave the first message of his resurrection(Mary Magdalene) to "Go tell my disciples...God will use any yielded vessel. "There is neither Jew, nor Greek there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male or FEMALE; for ye are all ONE in Christ Jesus". Galations 3:28~
Great Sermon! I agree with "Servant" and the scripture he has given. Here is another line upon his line. 1 COR 14 For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.
Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law.
And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.
What? came the word of God out from you? or came it unto you only?
If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord.
But if any man be ignorant, let him be ignorant.
Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues.
Let all things be done decently and in order.
Great Sermon! Love this man's wisdom! I loved the wisdom that came out of this question and answer session with old Wiersbe!
I wish everyone could hear his answer to the question about his "favorite puritan preachers!" LOL
Finally someone speaking plain about those guys instead of worshipping their work! Amen, Warren.
