Exalting God. The Holy Spirit testifies about the assurance of salvation in the Scriptures and in our spirit. The Doctrines of Grace exalts God and humbles man - and this is what God must do with every one of us, so that all glory may be attributed to Him.
Role of baptism. Good presentation of the role of baptism in the Christian life. It is not something in relation only with the beginning of the Christian life, but a continual reminder and help throughout the Christian life. I think that the NT speaks about believer's baptism, so I was not convinced about the second part of the sermon, regarding paedo-baptism.
Great lesson. Christians were regenerated, but this implies that we need constant cleansing from Christ (not another regeneration, another bath, but a washing of "feet"), because we continue to sin in this world and we need to pray daily: Forgive us our sins. The work of the Holy Spirit will show us the sins we commit in our walk.
Singer Rocks! I have been under the influence of brother Singer for about six years now and have listened to all of his MP3s many times he truly was and still is one of a kind. Being a Christian Negro man I have learned by Singer the other side (all though hard at times)of the war between the states. If any one knows were I can get a hold of recordings of his radio show he use to host it would be greatly appreciated!!
Who is Jesus? God-centered evangelism or man-centered evangelism. How we see and present Jesus will have consequences on our evangelism. Jesus Christ is the Lord. People have not to do Him Lord. He is the Lord, the King. People must bow before Him.
Truth and love. A message on Jeremiah 9:3, about speaking the truth in love. Illustrated from Bunyan's characters: Mr. Valiant-for-Truth and three of his enemies. A warning about possible wrong attitudes toward those who have not the truth we possess. A lesson in truth and love.
Great Sermon! AN GREATLY POWERFUL SERMON FOR ONE SUCH AS I WHO COULD MEAN TO BE FUNNY IS THE EXTEMPORE VOGUE UNLESS WE BELIEVE THE WHOLE TRUTH IS READY TO BE GIVEN BY US I FEAR NO SERMON SHALL EVER BE WHAT YOU HAVE SO EXCEEDINGLY SHOWN GOOD SERMONS ARE TO BE. THANK YOU. THE PROBLEM IS HOW TO BE READY WITH THE SERMON AT ALL TIMES. IN MY COUNTRY THERE IS SO MUCH POLLUTION IT IS SIMPLY NOT POSSIBLE TO CONNECT WITH THE MERCHANDISE OF RELIGION STUDIED IN A DAY. BESIDES, THE CIRCUMSTANCES ARE SO DIVERSE, HOW CAN A PLAIN BELIEVER BE READY WITH NEGOTIATING HAIRPINS AND BENDS AND A GOOD DOSE OF GOD'D WORD AS WELL? SO UNLESS GOD WILLS SO, THE CHOSEN HAVE BECOME CHOOSEY AND TRUTH FAILS UNTIL SOMELIKE LIKE THE EMINENT SPEAKER TELLS BETTER THINGS. HOW WELL IS THE BODY OF CHRIST BUILT, A WONDER OF WONDERS IF WE MEAN TO BELIEVE IT, I CORINTHIANS 12;12-27. I READ TODAY, THE CHURCH THE BODY OF CHRIST FORGIVES EVERY SIN OF A BELIEVER AND THUS THE HEAD OF THE BODY, CHRIST, IS FORMED ANEW IN THE VISION OF BELIEVERS. I WONDER IF THAT IS TRUTH, OUR FORGIVENESS OBTAINED BY JESUS, WHAT HEAD ARE WE GOING TO DEPICT TO THE REAL WORLD? NONE AS GOOD AS THE PORTRAYAL OF SERMONS BY DR. JOHN CARRICK. PRAISE THE LORD!
What kind of faith. Differences between true and spurious believers. Evangelism has consequences. False evangelism will create spurious believers. We must tell people the whole Gospel and present Christ as presented in the Gospel.
Asbolutely Essential! This is the best treatment of extemporaneous preaching that I have heard. Dr. Carrick has clearly conveyed what is so hard for many of us to express. This lecture is not merely about a mode of preaching, but it should drive us to diligence in our labors and utter dependence upon the Holy Spirit.
Great man of God. Excellent message about a great man of God: reformer in the church and society. Interesting his involvement in culture, education, politics and the Christian response given to these areas. Christ is Lord over all the aspects of life.
