Relevant Doctrinal Q & A by Pipa! During the second half of this Q and A Joseph Pipa answers and discusses the topic of Justification, Forgiveness, and imputation of righteousness (Christ's righteousness), where he draws a hard line against others in view, i.e. Steve Wilkins, et al.
The Sermon Audio messages by Benjamin Keech, a four part message on the "Marrow of Justification", which deals with the imputation of Christ's righteousness, which is different than remission of sins (and raised its head first among Puritans, Baxterism, etc.) would be well worth listening to.
And yes, that excellent Baptist Keech provides the great help to Presbyterians who ridicule anti-paedobaptism, even though Pipa says he does not recognize infant baptism of Catholics or Russian Orthodox, which is more consistent with the scripture, and Baptists, who insist that Faith is necessary for true baptism to mean anything or be a baptism into Christ.
Real Christian life. We need a right doctrinal foundation, but also to live experientially these doctrines; the price for this ia s disciplined life. I appreciate and I need these sermon by Ernest Reisinger: they always make me see my limitations, my weaknesses and my sins.
Great Sermon! A helpful word to young people! Amnon's 'love' for Tamar is a striking parallel to the lustful love promoted in the world. Pastor Chantry warns against such selfish dreams and points out that true love involves a sincere knowledge of the beloved and a desire to give up one's self for them.
Being like Christ. God decreed that salvation will mean people being transformed in the image of Christ. Salvation is the reproduction of Christ in man, started, continued and finished. Rolfe Barnard confesses in this message that he liked to read the Puritans and that many churches in America shut their doors to him because he preached predestination.
Great trust in Christ. Paul experienced his life being changed by the grace and power of Christ, who conquered his resistance to the Gospel. By this Paul knew that, if Christ could change a life as his, He can change any life. Paul went boldly preaching the Gospel dependent on the power of the Holy Spirit knowing that Christ triumph over Satan and in Him we are triumphing also.
Salvation and service. God calls men not only to salvation, but to service also. There is no Christian who are not called to serve God. God calls men and puts then in His army. But this truth is not preached in many churches.
Great Savior and Lord. A sovereign Christ, A Christ who qualified to be the Messiah, the Savior, who rules over the world as the God-man, who chooses His bride and Redeems her, who puts and end to this history and creates a new heaven and a new earth. How blessed and rich we are, His people, to have such a Savior and Lord!
Great Sermon! This sounds old-fashioned to me. But this message speaks the truth, not detailed and no strings attached. the way life should be and according to the way we should live it with God and each other.
To God be the Glory
What did Jesus' death accomplish? A message on John 19:30. The words of Jesus - It is finished - in relation with His Father, with the Devil and with God's people. The sermon is 40 minutes long. Followed by the reading of the entire 22nd chapter of Luke, followed by 5 minutes of explanations.
Great man of courage. A material very rich in information. Religious background in 19th Century USA, Gresham Machen's struggle with Liberalism in Europe and afterward, his growing dedication to Calvinism and his struggle to reform the church, the controversies regarding Liberalism and the founding of OPC. Very useful message.
makes me love Jesus more One of the most piercing presentations of the gospel I have every heard. Brings me to tears also, even thinking about the love of God demonstrated on the cross.
I listened to it on cassette tape years ago over and over, I'm glad to see it on the web now!
The difference. Luke 8:4-15. The third and fourth difference between true and false believers. False believers never close with Christ and all the inconveniences which might follow. We must be honest with people at the beginning and tell them about the price of being a Christian. False believers don't have a changed heart.
Bad news and good news. A message from 1975 on 1 Tes. 2:4. Until people do not understand the bad news that the relationship between the Creator and the sinful creatures is broken, they cannot understand the good news of salvation only through Christ.
