Sermon:
Dare we hope for revival? Pt 1
Rev. Ivan Foster
1
comment
“ Introduction. ”
A message about Christ's return. However, this message didn't get to the point of explaining how Matthew 25:1-11 discusses revival. * Response from Rev. Ivan Foster: Part ONE of this message dealt with the relevance of the parable of the ten virgins to the end times, emphasizing the word THEN..., Matt 25:1. Part TWO deals with the fact that it is clearly intimated by the Saviour that there will be a restoration of first century Christian watchfulness for His return, just before He returns - and that is revival!!

“ Where is home? ”
Yes, in this world we are not at home and we do not feel at home, but we long to be with the Lord, to escape sin and to be clothed with new bodies.

“ Great certainty. ”
Christians have the blessing of living with certainties, because they believe the revelation of God in His Word.

“ New perspective. ”
Praise the Lord! This message puts things in the right perspective. Many times I tend to complain too much about my sufferings or situation. But I saw that in comparison with the sufferings of Paul and of other Christians, my sufferings are nothing. And the perspective of heavenly glory and rewards helps us to see in different way our sufferings.

“ Good reminder. ”
I recognize in me this danger: to think too highly about men, about preachers, theologians. I must reind myself that these all there earthen vessels and their accomplishments are due to God's power working in them and through them.

Sermon:
Secret of self-sacrifice Pt 2
Rev. Ivan Foster
1
comment
“ New creation. ”
The man without Christ, who is is spiritual darkness, cannot turn his darkness into life by his natural powers. It needs the power of God to create light in the sinner and to bring him to the knowledge of God in Christ.

“ Blindness. ”
What wrong is to think that everything what is needed is to present clearly the Gospel to the sinner. And, after that, he can choose to believe or not. We have done everything, and now it is up ti him! But he is blind and only the Holy Spirit can open his eyes to see that clear Gospel. This message presents very celarly this truth.

Mercy and Motivation, Pt 3

“ Integrity. ”
A lesson about the integrity of a true minister of the Gospel. He let the Word work in him, so he can let the Word be preached through him to the people of God, without changing it.

Mercy and Motivation, Pt 2
Rev. Ivan Foster

comment
“ Integrity and courage. ”
Preaching a pure Word and having pure motives is the way of not fainting, of not being ashamed of the ministry. Because we are not preaching against our consciences. And this integrity gives strength to go on. And, of course, the power of God which works in us effectively.

“ Great reminder. ”
I realize that I must be more-more much thankful to God for saving me and for calling me to serve Him! I deserved only hell, and He call me to serve Him. And it is true: ministers benefit first from the teaching they impart to others.

“ Good study. ”
A good explanation of the work of the Law which leads us to Christ, showing us the standard of God and the impossibility of us fulfilling it. In the Gospel there is revealed a righteousness of Christ which can be imputed to us and an effective work of the Holy Spirit which regenerates us and sanctifies us in our Christian walk.

Sermon:
The minister's sufficiency, 3
Rev. Ivan Foster

“ New covenant. ”
It is true, Christ made us ministers of the new covenant. In this new covenant there is answer for our guilt, for our sin, for our weaknesses. In it there is life abundant. However, I think here Paul make a contrast between the new covenant and the Mozaic covenant, not with the covenant with Adam.

Sermon:
The minister's sufficiency, 2
Rev. Ivan Foster
1
comment
“ Made by God. ”
What a serious and blessed teaching: the minister of Gospel is made and equipped by God for the work. And in a special way, He belongs more to God than to his family, and He belongs more to God than to himself! He must say what God commanded him to say. So the people must not come criticizing him, but asking him: “Are you sure that God commanded you to say these things?”

“ Great sin. ”
Man in his unregenerate state can do nothing acceptable by God, all his faculties and deed are corrupted by sin. Only God can open his understanding and give him spiritual life.

Yes, we must shine as lights in this dark word, being testimonies of God's grace working in us, to the praise of our Lord.
