Great Sermon! I just wanted to add that Dr.Spence's book is also translated in Spanish as a resource for our Spanish friends. The name of it is: Enfrentando a La Musica Cristiana Contemporanea (I couldn't put the little accent marks in over the Spanish words). Book books cost $18.95@.
Great Sermon! Dr.Spence brings a well qualified scholarly, kind, & spiritual approach to this subject. Anyone interested in more information should visit the Foundations Bible Bible College Bookstore (www.foundations.edu) website and order his book-Confronting Contemporary Christian Music and tape set corresponding to the book.
There are also other great free online sermons and publications available.
A BIG THANK YOU, to Toronto Free Presbyterian Church for putting these 3 sermons by Dr.Spence online!
a practical sermon It is a great joy to be able to say with Job, i know that my redeemer liveth, and from the New testament, to be able to say with Paul, i know in whom i have believed...Yet, like Job spoke whilst in great adversity, so Paul said this during suffering, and brother Saunders is faithful in telling us about the cost of discipleship, and also he has a heart for those who heard this sermon whom were still unsaved.
The new birth changes everything, and although the price to pay is taking up the cross to follow Christ, the greatest thing a person can proclaim is "i know in whom i have beleived...!" This sermon will uplift you in on your pilgrim pathway, surely we thank the Lord for sermonaudio ,and hearing those who preach not themselves, but Christ and Him crucified.Thankyou brother Saunders for your big heart to the Lord's people and their welfare, and to honour God in your ministry.
Great Sermon! What a blessing your sermons have been. They have confirmed what the Holy Spirit has been showing me. You have taught me more how to recognize the wrong sound. I would like to share this with others and have shared this site. God Bless You!
Great Sermon! I liked this sermon so much that I had written a lengthy tome extolling its merits and then decided it was quite filled with my own self importance a.k.a. Pride. Suffice it to say that this is a sermon the haughty and puffed up Sinners of this world need to hear with their ears and understand with their hearts. It is sad to say that those who need most to hear about this most deadly and hidden destroyer of souls are those most blinded by prides dark and mesmorzing power. Truly, as Dr. McClelland said we have nothing at all to be proud of. Oswald Chambers said it well--"All heaven is interested in the cross of Christ, all hell terribly afraid of it, while men are the only beings who more or less ignore its meaning." "The wicked through the pride of his countenance will not seek after God, God is not in all his thoughts."
Great Sermon! Thank God, This is a manifestation of truth, though it hurts, it is the truth. It wounded me and I need God to heal me, to save me anew and deliver me from destructive elements in music and art. For I am a great music lover and I am an artist, this message will inspire me to be pure and sane in all my endeavours. I recommend it to anyone who LOVES the TRUTH and won't be too proud to humble up and seek help and assistance from this annointed message. Hope I'll be disciplined and inspired to listen to the other two, for I stumbled on this one through nothing but The HELP of God Himself. Praise GOD!
A Must for all parents and concerned believers Give yourselves time to hear and take to heart what he is saying. It is not an "easy" listen BUT is deep and well taught and will help parents to pray for their children.
Thank-you kindly!! The leaven of the world does infiltrate "unseen" if were are not trained by the Spirit of God to recognize it. Thank you for speaking without making Gods word "frosting coated", but instead for rightly dividing the "Word of Truth". I am goint to seek a tape copy for friends and family. You put into words what so many times is overlooked in daily living. Thanks again.
Right on Target! A message that all of us need to hear, and hear it often! What a sin this! God hates a "proud look" more than anything else, and indeed the Devil himself fell to his low estate by being "lifted up with pride." May grace have its perfect work to keep all of us humble at His feet! Thank you, Dr. McClelland, for this timely word.
