Convicting Sermon! This message made me ashamed that I don’t do more personally to take a stand against cultural and public wickedness. I need to do much more — more than simply boycotted certain businesses that are at the forefront of the anti-Christian agenda such as Ben and Jerry’s, Target, Disney, and Starbucks. Sometimes one voice can make a difference. Thank you brother Johnston!
History speaks truth! Very interesting insight about real historical revival results — 100,000 conversions in a city with less than 10,000 people? Hmm ... thank you Dr Johnston for correcting what some over-exaggerate. I love the topic of revivals; I truly would love to see one in my lifetime. However, I wonder if we are at the point of no return in America. Have we sinned away our day of Grace?
Great Sermon! Amen! And the church is made up of all of us; so where are we and where am I, that I do not dare raise my voice against all the atrocities I see and hear? Lord Jesus, forgive me and forgive all of us for betraying you and your word. May your Holy Spirit embolden each one of us to proclaim Christ before men.
Great Sermon! Would the American churches truly prayed for revival, repentance, brokenness, and soberness when it comes to Biblical Truth! An essential message!
Great Sermon! Another convicting message! All of his messages are godly and focused on repentance. So needed on this dark hour. Get his books too! Every one I’ve read are excellent! God bless you Brother Johnson.
More preachers should preach like this ... What a great message! As are all of Brother Johnston’s messages. .... Sadly, pastors will not say these tornadoes, storms, floods, and fires are judgements from God because they do not preach the judgement of Almighty God, nor do they preach the fear of the Lord and repentance from sin. It’s an “only believe” Gospel with no repentance, regeneration, sanctification, and holiness. Some would perhaps maybe give lip-service to great preachers like Edwards, Whitfield, Finney, Nettleton, Tozer, Ravenhill, and Barnard, but they would never preach like them, and most wouldn’t even acknowledge them. It’s an entertainment and man-centered Gospel these days folks, and salvation to them is just another self-goal for their own preservation, rather than a true desire for the Living God, and His ways, His Righteousness, and Holiness. They don’t care about actually obeying God, or glorifying Him, but only getting something from Him (their salvation). The rest of the time they want the world. It always gets back to them — all the time! A man-centered, man-pleasing Gospel, which is not the True Gospel of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ of the Bible. Repent! Hell lasts a long time!!
Great Sermon! Thank you for taking up the topic of Hell. Many are shying away from the subject.
I like how you have also tried to teach on the subject and plead with sinners to avoid it.
But today Hell is being attacked like never before and this is why I created a sermon series called "Problems with Annihilationism"
I seek to defend the faith once for all delivered to the saints.
Great Sermon! What an important message! If we can’t turn off our TVs (or just get rid of them) and seek God, pray, and study our Bibles, we will never see revival, nor have an affect on this sin-soaked world. We won’t be ready for the judgement, and may even be surprised on that day that we’re not even saved. May Jesus Christ help us!
Great Sermon! Sir, I hope you are right. I am awake at night contemplating the state of things and the evil in the world. I'm tired and I want to go home.
Great Sermon! Thanks once again for a powerful message. We constantly need to be reminded of the brevity of this life and what is my life really all about? Is it fame, fortune and popularity? Or is it about Christ?
Great Sermon! Dr. Johnston nails it again. The Church in America is in dire straits. So many churches are moribund and the pastors(for the most part) are up behind the pulpit to entertain. Let's pray for a good old fashioned Holy Ghost revival to shake us out of our spiritual lethargy.
Great Sermon! Another convicting message. Caused me to do a lot of soul searching asking myself, "What am I doing to get the gospel of Jesus Christ out to the lost?"
