Great Sermon! thank you for this message - I especially appreciated the reminder of Romans 14:19-21 - so many good Christians have been and are being hurt by what is no more than a bill of goods foisted on them by a self serving industry -
Catholic Priests who have Strayed! Dear James:
Thanks for writing your post. In reference to your question about Catholic Priests who have strayed, I would qualify "forgiveness" in several ways:
1. If they demonstrate genuine Repentance by making themselves accountable to others for their actions.
2. If they are willing to pay Restitution (where applicable) to the persons they have hurt.
3. Get serious Counseling.
I think those things will show whether a person means business when they say, "I'm sorry."
When it comes to forgiving people, I think that God clearly has no respect of persons or denominations!
Response to Great Sermon! I read the comments about the sermon on Ted Haggard's situation. After reading it, I thought I'd add my two cents worth. First, the fact that Mr. Haggard had some obvious hypocrisy in his life...doesn't mean that he is not a true believer!
Without a doubt, there are men and women who have been "genuinely" Born-Again by the Spirit of God, who hate sin, but find themselves in over their heads in terms of some sinful habit or practice.
According to Scripture, the acid test is whether a person has a heart to obey the Lord and is sincerely pursuing Godliness as oppose to someone who can "practice" a sinful lifestyle and it doesn't bother or convict them!
The Prodigal Son was genuienly a "Son", but for a time he lived far from the Father's standard of Righteous living; however, "When he came to himself" he realized that the way he had been living was "inconsistent" with who he was and who's he was, and thus, he went back home to the Father!
If the truth be told, many Christians in the Evangelical circle are struglling with something! They probably will not admit it, but "all of us" are weak for something that is ungodly and clearly off limits. I'd love some feedback on my statements.
Great Sermon! Great sermon. This harsh reality is one that Mr. Haggard must accept, in front of Christians, and allow God to use this negative to accoomplish His Will. We must realize that although we have free will to accept or reject Christ, God has a Will that can allow our acceptance or rejection of others to steer our lives into the battle for souls that goes on all around us. When we CHOOSE to become the judge, we open ourselves up to judgement.I PRAY for all of us that often feel the unrest that fosters our judgement toward the lost, that God may allow us to recieve the meaningless judgement from ourselves. So we can see and correct that deficiency of the soul before we meet true judgement. Have we never been lost ourselves? I pray for all that do not understand that when we use the Truth He lays out for us in the Bible to maliciously attack and ridicule a lost sheep! When we are like this we have totally taken God's word hostage and ignored the biggest example of His love for us. An example we were given by grace.
NONE OF US DESERVE ANYTHING OTHER THAN THE ACCEPTANCE AND PRAYERS OF THER BELIEVERS.This sermon said to me:"never underestimate the value of anyone"& God spoke to me through Mr. Modene whether he knows it or not. IN GRACE I CAME, AND IN PRAYER I GO-TILL HE RETURNS.
Great Sermon! The liberals hate Christians because we profess righteous and Holiness in Gods word. We don't need apostates giving them ammo against us. How can we ever help people to the Lord with leaders like Ted Haggard. As in the days of Noah, so shall the end times be. God Bless Pastor Modene and give Him more courage and strength to continue to preach the truth.
Hard hitting I loved the example of the XXX shop in our home. Men with any morals or pride at all would avoid those dens like the plague. Now that we can go anonymously, we are flocking to them. Unlike many preachers today, Modene's not afraid to call this problem to the front of the class. I wish we could raise a generation of preachers like this.
Great Sermon! PREACH IT BROTHER MODENE! I was waiting for some pastor...SOMEWHERE!...to expose this fraud Ted Haggard! Pastor Modene makes a poignant comment about these filthy rich megachurch pastors!!!
Riding around in jet planes, living in mansions, exotic vacations! Who are we talking about? The Vatican and Billy Graham are at the top of the list!
Then there is Haggard, Pat Robertson, Joel Osteen, John Hagee, and Rick Warren! And let's not forget the big mouth pastorette Joyce Meyers! We've got sodomites, drug addicts, porn addicts, and woman filling the pulpits today! Lord Jesus Christ give us revival!
Great Sermon! Very good sermon telling believers the truth about demons and the filth of the modern World system media, which is controled by love of money and doctrine of demons. If you are attracted to the media industry it is a sermon well worth listening to.
Great Sermon! Im so sure, Joel Osteen's faith doesn't mention rebuking of sin and Jesus Christ, I have also witnessed Osteen's proffesion on the Larry King show, and truly shock, no profession showing Jesus Christ as the only way to light. Osteen is a ravening wolf covered in sheep's clothing, base on Matt. 7...He lead many to death instead of using the Word of God to reproof and correction according to God's will...Osteen isn't for Jesus, but for the people...lost he is againts himself.
Highly Recomended Sermon! Pastor Modene,
I have listened to many of your sermons, but this was one of your best. You are one of the preachers I listen to on sermonaudio because of your bold stance to preach the truth without compromise. I hope some others will listen to this sermon as I am sure it will greatly benefit those that do.
May God continue to bless you and your ministry!
Wow I was wondering if you could provide some documentation for R.C Sproul Jr. being a drunken bum. Also, would it possible for you to provide the date that you visited R.C's church. I'd like to check some of this stuff out.
Our ministry take on Joel Osteen http://www.spiritwatch.org/behindsmile.ram
A well known book called "Slouching To Gomorrah" captured well the present spirit of the age. For all of his sincerity and enthusiasm, brother Osteen's attempts to marshal faith in God to "live at your full potential" miss two essentials to do so: Christ and the Gospel. Our ministry teaching done in a live conference will give our own perspective on this.
A faithful preacher Pastor Modenes preaching is brilliant, a combination of solid biblical doctrine juxtaposed against our post-modern world. Pastor Modene shows us how to be a peculiar people without being bizarre, how to be separated without being cultish and how to walk confidently faithful in a faithless and perverse age.
Great Sermon! Fine preaching brother Modene.
I have been making audio cd's of your messages and listening to them on my way to the office which is an hour and a half away an so redeem the time.
We need more straight from the heart preaching like this.
