Great Sermon! Amen! Hear this great sermon! The truth is made clear for all to hear in this wonderful message. This is a comfort to know and understand.
The truth is made simple when once God opens your eyes! |

Great Sermon! Thank you so much for this sermon which nourished my soul. This reverential awe of God has been lost in most of the gatherings of "christians" that I have been associtated with. In a neighborhood Bible study conducted by a PCA elders' wife, I was the lone person, rejecting Rick Warren's book. Needless to say, I was looked on as a divisive person.
When the majority of "christians" and even pastors promote books by Warren, Wilkinson (Jabez), and Hybels' model for church growth, one is alone when taking a stand against the status quo. He/she is told not to be divisive, and that a christian is called to submit to leadership.
I've listened to this sermon twice, and I hope to listen again. The Truth of God's Word faithfully presented brings comfort to my heart. Thank you, thank you, thank you, Pastor Derek.
I still have a problem with a christian having no rights, and everything in me asks, "is this so?" Does it mean passivism? I tend to be much more one driven to take a stand. If God had allowed and I had been born a man, I have the heart of a Wilberforce. Is it wrong to stand for what is right always? |

AWESOME, POWERFUL Sermon! EVERY WORD OF THIS SERMON IS POWERFUL. Consider: The world is constanlty bombarding us with desires that are opposed to God and fight against God. Do not love this world or the things in the world.
Sin is desiring what God has forbidden.
"...to pamper these lusts and desires is to strengthen them...when they are in charge, they are tryants and they are destroyers.
"When you increase the strength of any fleshly desire, you at the same time weaken your ability to walk in the Spirit—that is, you weaken your ability to walk in the victory of Christ, in His power and His grace.
"Jesus taught when we desire anything other than Him and His will these other desires 'choke' the Word and it becomes unfruitful (Mark 4:19). The delight and appreciation in God's word vanished. The Word of God becomes as meaningless as an old newspaper.
When we give into our desires, we cannot control the direction they will go. We are at the mercy of our lusts. The desire becomes our Lord.
We must we rip them out without mercy.
Rom. 6:12
The only escape route is Jesus Christ. "Lord, give me the desire to desire what is right." It's only in His grace that our sufficiency is found. We fight against sin, not in our own strength, but in God's (Titus 2:11-14). |
