Great Sermon! I have been listening to Brother Rolfe Barnard's sermons for approximately one month now. His preaching has blessed me. He was a very powerful preacher, that brings people into seeing their sin and coming to full repentance. We need more preachers like this ..present day, God willing. I believe he had a very lone walk in Christ, being an Evangelist that travelled right throughout America and also some parts of Canada, preaching in the style and conviction that was unique to Rolfe Barnard. I was intrigued how he himself fought God tremendously into coming into Him initially, but once broken...he was mightily used of God...a real and sincere preacher empowered by our Lord...and his preaching is relevant for current day listeners. His message is of the narrow road, sadly needed today. I pray God has blessed Brother Barnard in a special place in his heavenly home.
King and Priest. The assurance of our salvation is in God's oath to make Christ a priest for us for ever. Christ is King and Priest. He forgives our sins and rules over our lives. From this comes our strength.
Great lessons. For women, fulfilling the design God determined for them, to serve the well-being of their husband and family is an honor. Am excellent message about the role God wanted women to fulfill.
Exalting God. The Holy Spirit testifies about the assurance of salvation in the Scriptures and in our spirit. The Doctrines of Grace exalts God and humbles man - and this is what God must do with every one of us, so that all glory may be attributed to Him.
Role of baptism. Good presentation of the role of baptism in the Christian life. It is not something in relation only with the beginning of the Christian life, but a continual reminder and help throughout the Christian life. I think that the NT speaks about believer's baptism, so I was not convinced about the second part of the sermon, regarding paedo-baptism.
Great joy in heaven. Blessed description of the paradise which awaits the sons of God and the constant reminder that it is through the blood of the Lamb that we will enjoy all that.
Great lesson. Christians were regenerated, but this implies that we need constant cleansing from Christ (not another regeneration, another bath, but a washing of "feet"), because we continue to sin in this world and we need to pray daily: Forgive us our sins. The work of the Holy Spirit will show us the sins we commit in our walk.
Singer Rocks! I have been under the influence of brother Singer for about six years now and have listened to all of his MP3s many times he truly was and still is one of a kind. Being a Christian Negro man I have learned by Singer the other side (all though hard at times)of the war between the states. If any one knows were I can get a hold of recordings of his radio show he use to host it would be greatly appreciated!!
Who is Jesus? God-centered evangelism or man-centered evangelism. How we see and present Jesus will have consequences on our evangelism. Jesus Christ is the Lord. People have not to do Him Lord. He is the Lord, the King. People must bow before Him.
Truth and love. A message on Jeremiah 9:3, about speaking the truth in love. Illustrated from Bunyan's characters: Mr. Valiant-for-Truth and three of his enemies. A warning about possible wrong attitudes toward those who have not the truth we possess. A lesson in truth and love.
What kind of faith. Differences between true and spurious believers. Evangelism has consequences. False evangelism will create spurious believers. We must tell people the whole Gospel and present Christ as presented in the Gospel.
