Great Sermon! I too am going through the Church History Series. What an eye opener. I've been a Christian 25 years and I'm embarrased that I haven't learned this stuff yet. Church History should be mandatory study for all Christians. Thank you Michael Philips for making it clear and real. - Joe in NJ.
Very interesting! Very interesting and well researched part of church history. Studying those who have gone before us, and the "faith of our fathers", can inspire uplift and motivate! I'm enjoying this whole series! To find the whole series search under "Church History 25". Enjoy!
Many Thanks!! Your readings of Spurgeon's sermons have led to many hours of stimulating conversation between my wife and myself. Thank you for taking the time to place them on the Internet.

Great Sermons!!!! How lucky Grace Baptist is to have such a wonderful minister in Michael Phillips. What a charming small church. I found out about sermonaudio.com by way of looking for a church to attend while I was in Woodland Hills and finding The Tree of Life church in Canoga Park, Calif.
I enjoy the calming strength of his voice and personality as well as the depth and breath of his sermons. I only wish I had heard him ten years ago - make that twenty.
Yours truly,

Thank you for your instructive sermons Dear Mr Philips
I listen often to your sermons and I'm blessed by them. I really like your humble and instructive way of preaching the gospel. May God bless your ministry.
Thank you so much.

A Challenging Life This part of the biography of Spurgeon is a source of great lesson for all of us. We all experience criticisms in our ministry in one way or another. But as we remain faithful to the lord and in His truth, He will fight for us and the truth will set us free. This is what Spurgeon has experienced in his growth to maturity, a fitting example for us all to follow.
Helpful thanks Reminded me that I need to get hold of a copy of Baxter's Directory! But thanks Michael for applying Baxter so helpfully for me. It will be worth sharing Baxter's lessons with my congregation.
