Great Sermon! I really wished that I and my children has heard messages like these when we (respectfully) were these ages. I'm nearly the same age as Rand and I think of how much pain and wasted time and life may have been avoided had someone told me these things and lived them out in front me. How much good it would have done my children and maybe grandchild.
Thankyou Dr Berg thank you for the clarity on what a noisy soul is.
Your message was clear and a challenge to me.
I never really understood the message behind the yolk and easy burden but now I do, thanks.??
Excellent Message A very challenging message. I did not think of myself as covetous, but I am often discontented. Thank you for pointing out the connection between the two. God bless you and help you to keep speaking the truth to those around you.
Great Sermon! The world focuses primarily on the "eros" aspect of love: physical, sensual, sexual, romantic, self-serving, etc. Biblical love, defined in I Corinthians 13, is nothing like that. It is primarily occupied with glorifying God by obeying Him and serving others for His sake. Moreover, those early feelings of "eros" love are quickly overtaken by adjusting within marriage to living with someone who has sinned and fallen short of the glory of God (just like all of us). That is definitely not always easy. I very much dislike the expression "falling in love." It sounds like an accident in process, and indeed, as noted in this message, if you can fall in love, you can fall out of it. Eros love is fleeting and fickle, often based on lust; agape love is constant and always remains.
Wonderful and Insightful! Thank you so much Dr. Berg for such a powerful message. I was mightily blessed and encouraged to consider there is no cause to ever be in despair. Praise God for giving us Christ as our sure and confident Hope!
Great Sermon! Really appreciate this sermon. As a college student trying to make wise choices of friends, this really is a wise reminder--and the poignancy of Dr. Crockett's ending illustration is incredible.
Great Sermon! One of the most honest and raw expressions of a realistic biblical response to real life issues that you'll find. I appreciate the total transparency of feeling and emotion within struggles along with the honest and compelling challenge for us to respond to God's promises with a faith that's neither cheap nor easy, but rather involves a heartfelt wrestling to trust God.
When God takes men like this and compels them to lay it all out on the altar, we don't only get a sermon, but a beckoning from God Himself.
