I am the author of the blog. Sorry for the misquote. I was going from memory and obviously my memory was flawed. I used the NASB, and yes, the 1977 version was the closest to how I rendered it. "Do not judge, lest you be judged," has the same substantial meaning as my misquote, "Judge not, lest you be judged." So, though I don't want to purposely or accidentally misquote a scripture translation, I can't see that the correction changes anything about the points I was making in the blog. Thanks for the heads up on the mistake. I'll get it corrected. Sincerely, Curtis Knapp

Actually it's in the Tyndale version, but I want
to find out why everything thinks it is "Judge
not, lest ye be judged" if this is the case?

Matt, I added my edit too late

edit- I just looked it up, and its not in the NLT. The closest I see is
New American Standard 1977
“Do not judge lest you be judged.

No, "Judge not, lest ye be judged" is not the NTL
version either.

According to Google, its in the NLT. The author of the blog mistakenly attributed it to the KJV

Mtt7:1 Judge not, that ye be not judged.
2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what
measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.
3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but
considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
4 Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of
thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?
5 Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and
then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's
eye.
6 Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your
pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn
again and rend you.
7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it
shall be opened unto you:
8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth;
and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
9 Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give
him a stone?
10 Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?
11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your
children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give
good things to them that ask him?
--
Last verse- Jesus judges me (& all men)as evil.

Can you point me to where it says "Judge not,
lest ye be judged" in the Bible, and which
version of the Bible you are referring to?

The reason I'm asking is because "Judge not, lest
ye be judged" is a total misquote.

“ The Dog Who Became a Prince. ”
It's true if we approach The Holy One like a Dog he treats us like A Prince, His Prince. Same is true for women if they approach The Holy One as a Dog he treats her like A Princess, His Princess. Reminds me of Mephiboshth 2nd Samuel and the Canaanite Woman Matthew 15. And Mephibosheth did eat at The King's Table all the days of his life! All Praise to The Prince of Peace !!!

Sermon:
The Lonely Christian

“ Very, Very Good! ”
The sermon details give a good summation of the message, so here it is: "True Christians will almost always be lonely in this world. If you love God and love His Word, you are in an extreme minority. There are many Christians all over this world who have to travel miles and miles just to get to a true Bible honoring church. They are like Christians of old -- aliens, scattered throughout the world. What is comforting to the Christian, however, is to realize that Christ Himself experienced profound loneliness as a man and knows exactly how to sympathize with His people." Thanks, Bro. Curtis, for this sermon. I don't think I'd really given any thought as to what it was like for the Lord being around the sinfully, totally stupid creatures called us.

“ Great Sermon! ”
Fix your audio! I review audio files all the time for research.... but when I get a message where the audio is bad, the echo and bad production distract from the message and make it harder to concentrate, I generally just go on to the next speaker...

“ Very clear and helpful! ”
Excellent resource to share with any who are struggling with an OT verses NT mentality of God and His law. It obviously doesn't address all questions inquiring minds will have, but gives sold principles and a faithful foundation from which to build. The lesson leads to a clear gospel, and even evangelistic, emphasis. Good job Curtis.

“ Great Sermon! ”
A really encouraging sermon that there are people out there in the same boat and who understand and a great reminder that the Lord understands most of all. He mentioned at the end how encouraging it is to read reports from Heartcry of all that God is doing in the world. This is also where i find encouragement. In fact, my husband and i read a missionary report every night before we pray together just to encourage ourselves and remind ourselves there is real work being done for the kingdom out there and God still has his many out there even though we don't have any where we are.
