Sermon:
Postmillennial Difficulties
Pastor Jim Gables
1
comment
“ Very admirable approach ”
I admire pastor's delving into this topic, truly do. This topic, eschatology, has caused such needless infighting, as I see it. He approached the topic with obvious disagreement, but with a seeming desire to treat the even-handedly. That said, and as a postmillennialist myself, it was about the 9 minute mark when I began seeing things go astray. He asked - and rightly so - "what kind of a world will Christ return to?" A good question, to be sure. However, to as this, pastor Gables directed our attention to Matt 24. Like there are two "streams" of premillennialisms, there are two "streams" of postmillennialism: Classic and partial preterist. For the classic perspective, look into Johnathan Edwards. The Partial Preterist perspective (such as Dr. Ken Gentry or Dr. James White), will see Matt 24 (and much - NOT ALL - of Revelation) as speaking to the promised judgment against covenant breaking Isreal. They continually broke what we call the Old Covenant. Jesus instituted the "New Covenant" the night of His betrayal. His return, then, was against covenant breaking Isreal, culminating in 70AD. If this is a problem, it must be exegetically refuted, not by another's tradition. Thank you and God bless.

Sermon:
Treatment of Animals
Pastor Jim Gables
1
comment
“ The Righteous Are Merciful ”
A beautiful and very thorough message about man's responsibility to animals. How people treat animals shows a lot about what is going on inside of them. Cruel and dark people show what is inside of them by how they treat those under their care. If they are cruel to animals, they will also harm humans. Proverbs 12:10.

“ Thorough study ”
Pls can you comment on Synod of Dort Head 1 Article 17 that is very specific about only elect infants and not just infants, implying to me that there are elect and non elect infants. Also wouldn’t God’s covenant with His people give them assurance of their infants who die but not the non covenant people who can’t know?

Wonderful! I will be singing “up from the grave he arose with a mighty triumph over his foes; he arose a victor from the dark domain, and he lives forever with his saints to reign, He arose , He arose, Hallelujah! Christ arose!
