Basic Information
Introduction
We are a group of families - men and women, boys and girls - who struggle each day with the issues of life. We are sinners saved by God's magnificent grace! We are committed to "taking every thought captive" and bringing our personal lives, our homes, our work, our relationships, and our communities into greater conformity to God's Holy Word. This task can only be done through the grace of God through faithful preaching and edifying shepherding, which causes us to love and serve one another and our community in humble repentance.
Our Mission
Making the world's nations Christ's disciples. (Matthew 28:18-20)
Our Focus
The focus of our church's life, fellowship, worship, work, and mission is GOD IN CHRIST, who is "the Savior of the world" and "the King of kings, and Lord of lords." We strive, with the help of the Holy Spirit, not to be doctrine-centered, law-centered, church-centered, or man-centered but rather to be Trinity-centered in all we are and do, because "of Him, through Him, and to Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever."
Our Faith
Zion Presbyterian is a mission work of the Reformed Presbyterian Church in the United States. Our denomination holds to the original Westminster Confession of Faith and Catechisms without hesitation or embarrassment believing that they are the system of revealed truth taught in the written Word of God. We embrace the command of God to defend, expound, and apply that system of truth in every area of life.
Our Vision
We believe that God has promised His church a glorious future in Jesus Christ. We look forward to the future knowing that, with all its struggles and victories, it belongs to the faithful people of God (1 Corinthians 3:21-22). We are future-oriented in our present responsibilities and ministries.
We work, pray, and hope for the day when the earth will be full of the knowledge of the LORD as the waters cover the sea (Isaiah 11:9).
Our Mandate
We work to renew, by God's Word and Spirit, every idea, activity, relationship, and institution of human existence, beginning with the heart, according to the Creation Mandate of Genesis 1:28 and the Great Commission of Jesus Christ in Matthew 28:18-20. These God-given mandates instruct us to reform and reconstruct the whole world through person-winning (evangelism and discipleship), family-winning (church planting and Christian education), and culture-winning (world and national evangelization).
Our Fellowship-We encourage believers to become fully dependent on Jesus Christ and obedient to the Creation Mandate and the Great Commission. Each center of our life together as believers - family, congregation, session, presbytery, synod and general assembly - is an integral part of our shared mission in and to God's world. In all these centers, in prayer and under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, we worship, nurture and serve.
Worship-We gather to worship as Christian families according to all that God has commanded us.
Nourishment - The faithful preaching of the Word of God equips us for serving, ministering and nourishing each other. Through the shepherding oversight of our session, loving care of our diaconate, and our vital fellowship with each other we support and encourage our church families, helping each other discover, develop and use our God-given gifts and talents for the building up of the whole body of Christ.
Service - We serve our congregation, community, and world through the proclamation of the Gospel and our diaconal ministries. We help people in their immediate needs and create opportunities to extend the call to those not reached by other ministries.
Service Times
We meet for worship and Bible study each Lord's day at 10:30am and 5:30pm. We also offer Men's and Ladies' bible studies during the week. Please call or email for additional information.
