Introduction
Clover Pass Community Church is located in Ketchikan, Alaska, and is part of The Christian and Missionary Alliance. As part of The Alliance, we are passionate about sharing the Good News with people in our area, cities nearby and around the world.
We do that by putting our motto—"Jesus loving people through people"—into action. Our church has been an active part of our community for more than 35 years and during that time we have followed the leading of the Spirit to minister throughout Alaska and around the world.
We have been privileged to help start six other churches on Prince of Wales Island as well as three churches in Mexico. As part of our Mexican outreach we have sent a full time missionary couple, William and Katie Cooke, to serve there. In the time that they have been in Mexico they have started a church in San Marcos, a little village one hour away from Guadalajara and the church continues to grow. They also have started a Children's Home to meet the needs of kids who have no permanent homes.
During the summer months, one of our main outreaches is to the crew members on the cruise ships that come through Ketchikan every day from May to October. Our pastor for outreach, Mike Cooke, has a base on the docks and ministers to crew members both spiritually and in practical ways. He provides pastoral care for those Christian crew members who look on us as their church home away from home. In just one week Mike counted that he had talked to people from 77 different countries. Each summer the mission field really does come to us in Ketchikan!
A few years back the 700 Club even did a video segment about our cruise ship ministry and it was shown all over the world. They also honored Clover Pass Community Church as "America's Church of the Week".
We are blessed to have the opportunity to share the message of Christ's love in person and online through this forum. We trust that you will be blessed as you listen.
Speaking from the standpoint of the church secretary in the main office, I can attest to three instances in particular that our participation in SermonAudio.com has been greatly beneficial. Our senior Pastor Dave Hunter, received a call from a young man recently in IRAQ, who just wanted to say that he was listening there and being so blessed by the messages that he was hearing! In addition, (perhaps it was the same gentleman who called) pastor Dave received notification and a word of appreciation via the site and it's interactive ability where one can post messages regarding the sermons that they hear, again from IRAQ! Our pastor was so blessed, awed and humbled by the knowledge that though he is on an island in Southeast Alaska, God is using him to minister to people around the world. This is made possible by your site! Lastly, I personally have logged on many times when I was unable to attend services due to my MS or some other reason, and have been able to listen to God's word being taught from the comfort of my own home! I don't have to feel left out or fall behind on a series of sermons on a particular topic thanks to this wonderful service. Thanks for doing what you do. God bless and I am honored to have the opportunity to tell others what you are doing for the Lord through SermonAudio.com.
