As a small church, we could have chosen to put up our sermons just on our own website. We decided to also put up our sermons on your site because it gives us a much wider exposure and enhances our opportunity to impact more people with God’s Word. By being on SermonAudio, people can listen to our sermons or watch out live webcast virtually anywhere in the world. I was preaching in India recently and decided on Sunday to see if I could watch our church service from NY live from my hotel room. With a few clicks I was able to tune in! One time I received an email for a person in Scotland who was was on their way to church one winter morning. Their car slid off the road and so they decided to turn around and go home. They found our church webcast on SermonAudio, watched it, and wrote me a note of how our service encouraged them that morning. Several years ago one of the young men from our church was serving over in Afghanistan. He decided to invite several of his fellow servicemen to watch our Christmas service live. I was told shortly after the service began and so I announced this to the congregation, we all turned to camera and waved to our troops and I prayed for them at that moment. I continued on with the rest of the service as normal unaware of what happened next. After the service the young man’s mother (who had been texting with her son during the service) told me that shortly after my prayer that an explosive device went off near the building where these men were. None of them were injured but they could feel the vibrations and had to head for cover for a bit. They all gathered back to watch the rest of the service eventually. That young man was used by God to lead several of the men who watched that service to the Lord. Closer to home, I received an email from a Filipino lady who apparently was watching our service every week. Due to computer issues, we weren’t able to broadcast for a few weeks and she wrote me asking why we stopped livestreaming our services. I explained our situation and invited her to come join us in person. She never did but she kept listening.
We don’t get feedback like this very often, but this does show you the impact that a small church can have around the world. We love the various features your site offers and hope to take advantage of more options in the future. Your service is very affordable. It is really an essential part of our ministry. You all do a great job updating the site and making great enhancements to it from time to time.
