The stage is set and soon Paul will be passing the torch of his ministry on to young Timothy. Here in these eight verses we see the apostle address some of the issues of this life that Timothy will have to face. The need is great for him to stand by his calling and on the Word of God. People will stand in opposition to such preaching but it is up to each one of us to do our part. Because the people will really not want to hear a word we say and they will build up their own walls to keep us out, but keep trying anyway like Paul did. In the end it will be worth it. Our efforts for Christ's kingdom will not go unnoticed by our Lord. Just fight the good fight.
